Re: Building with Metricon 5151Apr 24, 2017 12:14 am Hi all i had my kitchen appointment on friday and it has ended in some major confusion.. Hoping others can provide some guidance.. I am confused about what laminate colour to pick for kitchen cupboards. I have picked white shimmer ceaserstone for island and bench top with black glass splashback. My wall colour is whisper white and cieling is white on white with ivort polished porcelain tiles .. I like the timber look of honey elm (as per the photo) but not sure if it fits with everything else.. Please provide some suggestion. My shower niches are 800x600 Have no idea what they will look like, but i preferred it to be wider than longer cause what could you do with a long niche? Appreciate your help I was going to say not sure how the honey elm would go with black splashback but it doesn't look too bad there with the dark tile. White Benchtops will add a bigger contrast to that pick though. Hmmmmm. What about a grey wood look laminate? Re: Building with Metricon 5155Apr 24, 2017 9:53 am Renman bubblynutter Renman Hi all, Anyone here installing a fireplace post handover but getting Metricon to provision space, gas and power? Did you have to nominate a model number before hand? Do they plaster the wall or cut a hole during the build? We identified the location of a post handover fireplace, but it's wood not gas. Got a plaster wall built out in the sitting room, and an isolation switch added to the electrical plan. They don't cut the plaster, the installer does that. We identified the model so the correct depth wall could be added, and so the frame could be built to allow for the heater. Cost was that of the extra plaster wall and the isolation switch. No special plasterboard was needed for our model heater or that would have had to be included too. Thanks for the info bubbly. In you plans does it look like it has a solid wall or a cut out this this? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It is drawn as a solid wall. We built it into the room rather than outside as yours is shown, as it's an internal wall backed onto our hallway. There are photos on my thread of the sitting room projection wall at frame stage and plastered. All very strange, as I didnt specify a size and 450x450 is what they came back with. 450 wide is plenty for four bottles that week keep in the shower, and 400 high is more than enough as most bottles are under 300 so it leaves room to hit the soap pump. Re: Building with Metricon 5157Apr 25, 2017 3:33 pm Is anyone doing the decking to the alfresco after handover? If so are you asking Metricon to lower that part of the slab so when decking goes on the floor level will be flush to the inside and by how much?
