Or do hey fix it, then remove it to paint and fix it back up again? Since painting falls into the Completion stage and hanging of doors is in an earlier stage of Fixing? My KDR Metricon Hampshire - Liberty - 45 Melb https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Ours were stained and painted while hung. Very lazy. Re: Building with Metricon 6285Oct 03, 2017 10:47 am Hi All Just got some estimates for brick upgrade for my Glendale 41. Cat 2 is around $4600 Cat 3 is around $8700 Studio rep mentioned they had recent price rise for brick upgrade. They said even though i deposited few month ago i will be hit with the price rise as the deposit only relates to base price lock in and not to studio upgrades. Could someone please provide any guidance if that is the case. Also if you could let me know any brick upgrade prices in Sydney before the price rise so i can take it up with my CSC. I am considering Symmetry range brick either Earth or Asphalt. Thanks for your help. Re: Building with Metricon 6287Oct 03, 2017 1:08 pm Is that for all the house to be bricked? I know with ours. We had all render up the top. And brick for the bottom. We had an allowance for $9000 Which meant we could go up to cat 7. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Building with Metricon 6288Oct 03, 2017 1:30 pm Theoretically, if you are rendering you would be able to use the cheapest bricks for the parts to be rendered, and only be charged for the more expensive bricks where they are exposed. Not sure if M works that way though or if they have taken that into account when they give you the rendering cost Metricon Liberty 45, Ryde NSW http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=82846 Build thread: Metricon Liberty 45 in Ryde, NSW Re: Building with Metricon 6289Oct 03, 2017 1:33 pm Quirmeball1280 Theoretically, if you are rendering you would be able to use the cheapest bricks for the parts to be rendered, and only be charged for the more expensive bricks where they are exposed. They did it for our pillar. They used cat 1. But who knows how they price it. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Building with Metricon 6290Oct 03, 2017 3:02 pm blackcat20 DRT Hi All Just got some estimates for brick upgrade for my Glendale 41. We wanted to add in a few items at tender stage however our consultant adviced its easier to do it at studio during the appointment. How long ago was this and what bricks did you end up going with for how much. Thanks Building with Metricon 6292Oct 03, 2017 3:19 pm We didn’t end up going with bricks in the end. But I was going to get Lonsdale. And that was in January this year. We ended up going with hebel as they had a promo for $3500 for whole house. I have always loved the whole house rendered look. I should add it was between Lonsdale and moon shadow. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Building with Metricon 6293Oct 03, 2017 3:24 pm The moon shadow is cat 5 which means we would have payed less. With $9000 we were able to go to cat 7. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Building with Metricon 6294Oct 03, 2017 3:34 pm Doulton777 We didn’t end up going with bricks in the end. Haven't asked for an official quote so not sure how true that is. As i have seen there could be a big price difference in what sales consultant say versus what actually comes out in estimate. Our brick is cat 7 or 8, ground floor only and cost $7.5k. We went with Selkirk Black Diamond. We have 2 rendered pillars out the front and they used my expensive bricks instead of cheap ones. M refused to use different bricks or alter my price. Not that I think it would have made a big price difference for 2 pillars, but still annoying. Hebel is generally much cheaper on labor costs and costs less as material, only rendering adds up a little bit, so in the worst case scenario I would expect the costs to be the same. I got told hebel is more expensive material but cheaper labour that’s why they encourage people to go for hebel. Plus a shortage of brick layers. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Hi, First of all, thank you to this community for sharing your thoughts and opinions.
