Seems they dont credit the original allowance back for the Cat 1 bricks and have you only pay the difference. Not impressed atm Re: Building with Metricon 6425Oct 19, 2017 9:52 pm Hi all, I need help! Gutter guard to gutters of tiled roof (in &ex variation) AND gutter guard to all gutters and valleys of roofing (hydraulics variation ) are they different thing, or same thing? Any advice would be great...it all seems really daunting in terms of what ****** ahead. If this is the right forum, I will then post what we have done so far. Thanks My recommendations: Start a spreadsheet to record everything: Worksheet 1 - Questions Date, Question Asked, Answer from Metricon Worksheet 2 - Pricing Date, Item, Cost, Desired or Must-Have Things to consider: * Upgrade your insulation for ceiling and walls * Sarking in the roof - someone else already mentioned this * Whirlybird vents in the roof * Increase window sizes - but be prepared for increased curtain costs too! * Type of glass for windows - double glazing, sound proofing, thermal proofing * Water point for fridge * Increase garage and garage door * Higher ceilings and door height * Eaves around the house Stuff to think about doing yourself afterwards: * Air conditioning * Tiling and carpeting . (but I had M do my tiling) * Rainwater tank * Pathway and driveway (but I had M do mine) * Stormwater . (but I had M do mine) Hi lincoln32 we were wondering what the cost is to increase garage opening width, garage opening height and garage door height? Does anyone know the cost of this? Also how much did the pathway n driveway cost n is that structural? Thanks It was $580 for the following variation - "Provide 2372mm high x 5200mm wide (nom) opening to Garage external elevation A and increase height and width of front Garage door to suit in lieu of standard" I am doing my driveway and pathway separately after handover as it will be cheaper, but I did get a quote from M for this and is was $15k about for the following: "Provide 100mm thick, 25mpa grade natural grey concrete perimeter paths and driveway (up to site boundary) including SL62 fabric mesh and expansion joints on compacted aggregate base to areas nominated on the site plan. Note: Excludes kerb and crossover. Kerb and crossover to be completed by the owner after handover in accordance with council guidelines." Not impressed atm I am finding the same issue i tried talking to my CSC and her team leader explaining that the whole point of depositing well in advance was to lock in the prices but i was told that its only to lock in base price and all other upgrades are subject to price rise during the time of your appointment. Also that may push the garage onto tge boundary line....is a fence required or can the garage wall work as that so we can extend the width. Not sure about the council approvals piece. Re: Building with Metricon 6430Oct 20, 2017 5:56 pm Hi all. Can someone please tell me how the termite reticulation barrier is meant to be left at handover? Is it meant to buried? Re: Building with Metricon 6431Oct 20, 2017 9:12 pm jessicagauci Hi all. Can someone please tell me how the termite reticulation barrier is meant to be left at handover? Is it meant to buried? Ours was left in a small channel around the house uncovered. They said they would come back and prime it after landscaping is done. Also was told to cover in sand when landscaping.
