Say I hv paid $5k, and my final contract says $400k, does it mean the balance becomes 395k? That is correct Boysenberry. @ Orph build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Dream Metricon Glendale 38 (Sydney)! But why don't you google the washing machine you own, and the size is likely on a website somewhere, like the Good Guys or Harvey Norman Building a Metricon Barkly 29 in North Brisbane - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77396 Re: Building with Metricon 785Dec 09, 2015 1:24 pm Chaton melipen19 Hey there can anyone tell me how wide your washing machine space is - building with metricon, they drafted a plan with a 828mm wide space for front loader washing machine... now saying it might not be wide enough? Standard size for a washer or dryer is 600mm We have speced 1300mm as we have both and they will be side by side. Suggest you ask them WHY they are saying it is too small as often they are getting the info 2nd or 3rd hand so they may not know what they are talking about ORLANDO 28 - SYDNEY Re: Building with Metricon 787Dec 09, 2015 1:29 pm melipen19 Thanks Chaton. Hmm - that might include the width of the cabinetry either side of the space (our fridge space did) and a margin. If minimum recommended is 700+ then you should be fine! Perhaps check out a display with the same size enclosure and a tape measure? We will be doing a browse at studio m in Jan when they come back from Christmas break and will do our actual colour appointment soon after that! Any tips greatly appreciated! We are a little annoyed that we have to do it in Geelong as they have a small space compared to Melbourne, is there much that would need to be seen in person or would pictures be enough do you think? Eg feature doors, basins etc Re: Building with Metricon 790Dec 11, 2015 11:37 am Congrats klz, it is always hard to fit what you want and need within the budget. After all we don't have unlimited budget. I found myself going a lot to the laminex places and Caesarstone cos sometimes the picture doesn't really reflect the actual color. Same thing with bricks. Good luck. Re: Building with Metricon 791Dec 11, 2015 1:43 pm boysenberry2014 Congrats klz, it is always hard to fit what you want and need within the budget. Has anyone upgraded kitchen to higher cat stone and if so what sort of cost would we be looking at? The price difference I believe is not that much, but it depends on how big is your benchtop. You should ask your sales consultant to price it in already so when you go to the color appointment the price is already built in. It is easier for you than having a shock on the day. kylz4 boysenberry2014 Congrats klz, it is always hard to fit what you want and need within the budget. After all we don't have unlimited budget. Re: Building with Metricon 793Dec 11, 2015 4:49 pm Agree with the comments here in addition to the structural changes get your sales consultants to include the costing of the must have items in the initial prelim contracts. Some of the things we included were Stone upgrade for all areas Stair case Doors upgraded (size) I know some ppl have included a provisional allowance for "other" Studio M and Electrical upgrades. So they have an approximate budget to work with. viewtopic.php?t=78985 Re: Building with Metricon 794Dec 11, 2015 5:01 pm I have included heaps of upgrades such as stone, extended Windows, higher doors, higher ceilings, additional exhaust fans, overhead cupboards etc but know there will still be a few upgrades that happen at colours when we see what cat 1 is of things!! Re: Building with Metricon 795Dec 11, 2015 5:34 pm Update on our build, we had our frames completed on Wed, windows in on Thur and today 95% of the hebel has gone up for the ground floor! Go SS go!! We got our colours quote last Aug, we had made our kitchen island bigger and to upgrade all kitchen benchtops (excluding butlers pantry) to Cat 3 20mm stone was $1145. http://jazzyandluke.blogspot.com.au Building Metricon Glendale 38 http://jazzyandluke.blogspot.com.au Re: Building with Metricon 798Dec 11, 2015 6:54 pm Looks great jazz, seems to be progressing really well ? Thanks also re c/stone upgrade. It gives me hope lol, we are building Glendale too and have made our island bench deeper so fingers crossed its a similar charge ? Re: Building with Metricon 799Dec 11, 2015 7:06 pm Tribe7 Wooo hoooo Jazz your Ss is going great. So much progress and your house is looking fab. Can't wait to see yours rendered and painted. Thanks Tribe, we've only been in construction for 5 weeks so I'm stoked! Met the SS today for a walk through and he seemed like a nice guy, he wants to schedule everything as soon as he can but said it's likely we'll have delays with the roof and tiling due to trade shortages so we'll see how it goes after Christmas http://jazzyandluke.blogspot.com.au Building Metricon Glendale 38 http://jazzyandluke.blogspot.com.au Re: Building with Metricon 800Dec 11, 2015 7:08 pm kylz4 Looks great jazz, seems to be progressing really well Thanks also re c/stone upgrade.
