I think it was only added on our variations as an add on so only in handwriting, don't think it has all the details with it. Re: Building with Metricon 902Jan 04, 2016 1:01 pm Hi kylz4, M quotes me $2327 for "Provide 40mm edge to Stone Composit Benchtop to all Kitchen and Pantry benchtops in lieu of standard 20mm edge. Note: Exposed edge only increased to 40mm - Benchtop remains 20mm thick." For your refence, my Kitchen benchtip size is 6600mm long x 580mm wide. And Island benchtop size is 2830mm long x 900mm wide. kylz4 Thanks Emmz and Skami for your replies, sounds like add on option is out then! Has anyone upgraded their island to 40mm?? We were quoted $3065 (island is about 2.8m x1.1m). However today at display home we noticed their 40mm island was just an extra lip joined all around the edge, surely they can't charge $3k for this!?!?!? Will definitely question this Building with Metricon 904Jan 06, 2016 10:19 pm I can't comment on the pricing, but there is a casearstone YouTube video which shows how they do the mitring to make the "thicker" look edge. Edit: it seems like standard protocol for them and a double slab would be out of the ordinary (and possibly too heavy?). here is the link, it's a pretty cool video actually, they have some fancy computerised equipment. http://youtu.be/M8PdwBirYqA Re: Building with Metricon 905Jan 06, 2016 10:58 pm jsmi I can't comment on the pricing, but there is a casearstone YouTube video which shows how they do the mitring to make the "thicker" look edge. Re: Building with Metricon 906Jan 10, 2016 10:01 pm Who do Metricon down in Melbourne use for their cookware? Hubby has said he wants to go for separate cooktop and under bench oven instead of the 900 upright cooker. Not sure how many they have to choose from, thought it would be good if we could go select what we wanted and get them to price it... We didn't remove one, but we re-oriented it to open up the area. So instead of running East-West, it runs North-South. The load bearing post remains in the same spot it was initially. There was no cost. If you want to remove completely, you'll have to find another load bearing solution - they might not do it. Or if you want to remove the load bearing part. Will definitely question this Just stalking your Metricon thread- I am building with Coral and when I reduced my bench edge from 80mm to 50mm I got a credit of $128 (Deluxe stone category). That was for an island 3000x1200. Lack of transparency meant I never knew the real cost to begin with as they priced our island as a single item (inc design, stone, edges etc) but I would question that price.
