Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Metricon 5541Jun 20, 2017 1:45 pm This is interesting, as Metricon paid all the power bills for the work done on our build. They had a builder's package from AGL during the period of the build, and was all paid by them. At the time of handover, i had to transfer the connection to my name, and also opt for the tariff plan of my choice. As for water, this was charged to me, and i had to pay. Not sure if that's how it should be, but i just went ahead and paid. I was quite annoyed at the whole thing, cause it cost me a lot extra to hire the temp power pole, even though most of the time it wasn't even used due to safety issues with scaffolding. Then we had to borrow power from neighbours, which defeats the whole purpose of hiring a temp power pole to begin with. So stupid. Re: Building with Metricon 5543Jun 20, 2017 4:02 pm Yep it is different in each state. I was told in NSW they are getting poles early in the builds going forward to make it easier for tradies so they don't have to bring generators. We have to pay for gas. I got a bill the other day for $100 and the gas pipes hadn't even been connected to the house. They said that they just used an average and when I told them it wasn't connected they just charged me the daily service fee for having the meter installed and no usage. 25,000 litres sounds like a lot Nev _________________ Blog | ( will start once received tender ) H1 thread | https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77665 Re: Building with Metricon 5544Jun 20, 2017 9:33 pm We paid for our water during the build but no electricity as most of their tools were either battery operated or generator powered. A matter of fact I have recommended him to a few members on here. All of this recommendations was accepted in the final plans and he explained all the steps that we needed to go though. Even helped us filled in the form for the 3 Phase power from citipower. He is only if the most experienced consultant that M has and hence why he is at La Pyrenne. What are you looking to build? Just not sure whether it's better to go with the consultant at the display home or someone like your consultant even though they're not working for that particular display home. Just prefer to deal with a consultant that's less of a sales person if you know what I mean. Re: Building with Metricon 5557Jun 22, 2017 9:57 pm We dealt with DC who is currently at Glen Waverley. He used to meet us after house on a week at the Kew Hampshire or Balwyn Boudreaux because we both work to go over the plan. We also wanted to see the display home at night and get an idea of what it would look and feel like and see if there was enough led lights.
