Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 12, 2015 11:11 pm Hi, Just wanted to get some reviews about fowler homes. We are thinking of building with them in NSW but I don't know many people who have built with them... things like quality, build time, sticking to tender price etc?? Any help is greatly appreciated Re: Anyone built with fowler homes recently? 2Jun 14, 2015 11:04 am We are building with them (havent actually started yet) They have been really good to us thus far, very friendly people. The display homes in Sydney are pretty rediculous, though i dont imagine they would be the standard inclusions lol That being said the inclusions in our contract do seem really nice. The price might make you nearly fall down, but looking at the contract everything looks included to walk into a finished home, other builders price might look better but dont always include things like alfresco slab etc, so you end up spending money in the long run. Thanks for that Feedback that was my general impression of them too... so far they have been quite honest about possible extra costs as we have a sloped sight. We are still yet to do the site survey so will see how we go... what design are you going with? We like the portofino. .. Re: Anyone built with fowler homes recently? 4Jun 21, 2015 6:52 am We went with the santorini and have modified it a bit, didn't want 2 living areas so made the alfresco bigger http://bradlysantorini.blogspot.com.au Fowler Santorini 35 Tender - Oct 14 Dirt turned - Apr 16 Slab - Apr 16 Frames/Truss - Apr 16 Roof tiles - May 16 Sheeting - June 16 Lockup -June 16 http://bradlysantorini.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Anyone built with fowler homes recently? 5Jun 25, 2015 3:57 pm Hi there! I have just posted in a different forum, but we are in the process of building with Fowler - well, trying to... we requested a tender in Dec 2014, signed up at the end of April and are now awaiting final plans to go to council.... we loved the house design (we're building a monte carlo 41 with a few modifications as a KDR) and so are trying to be patient but so far it has been extremely frustrating... that's probably partly my impatience though too... Happy to provide any info if I can be of any help, but we are at early stages!! Good luck! Re: Anyone built with fowler homes recently? 6Oct 17, 2015 11:50 am hi all, my first post ... getting close to signing as well for a KDR ... so far so good, just going through tender evaluation at the moment. I find the whole process heavily biased towards the builder (not just Fowler) so am very careful to commit. they keep talking about this step being "a very important decision" yet they want you to sign and pay $3,000 on the same day. Did look at another builder who offered a free tender but their price was basic with 0 inclusions such as driveway, alfresco etc. so in that respect i find Fowler to be much more affordable ... so far If anyone has any tips and advice, i welcome it. Re: Anyone built with fowler homes recently? 7Dec 03, 2015 9:09 pm Hey guys, we are about 3 weeks off from complete. I think every builder has their faults, for sure, but generally we've had a good experience. We ran (crazy I know) 8 tenders... and we chose Fowler because the inclusions were much higher than competitors, the price as quite competetive and it was more fixed price than other tenders. We did spend a fair bit at colour selections, but didnt "need" to, just that we have very specific desires. The standard inclusion would have already been very nice, much nicer than the other tenders. I have found the fixed prices to be genuine, pretty much just peiring, fill and tiger tails that were unfixed and we had generous provisions, so we got money back on all 3. We have deleted and varied a few things, and got cash back on them, so overall at the end of our build our contract price is less than where we started. I have a blog you're welcome to peruse - send me a message and I will send the link to you. Re: Anyone built with fowler homes recently? 8May 09, 2016 10:00 am is it worth spending 23k on Seabreeze facade, does any of you got it. Asked Fowler sales rep to give us any references where we can drive pass but he said it's intruding to their customer's privacy..no luck Need a flat roof facade and found their Portofino as good plan to our needs Re: Anyone built with fowler homes recently? 10May 09, 2016 8:49 pm It is looking awesome, worth spending 23K. any thoughts? Re: Anyone built with fowler homes recently? 11May 10, 2016 8:49 am Honestly it does look nice... Bit heres what they dont tell you. - rendering not included - matrix cladding at front also not included. Last because of the way this facade is put together its delayed my lockup stage by months and im going into liquidated damages next week when in suppose to be getting the keys this week.... Was it worth it...mmmmm I really cant say. I love the ultra modern look but im getting married in few months I really hope they finish. Re: Anyone built with fowler homes recently? 12May 11, 2016 11:36 am Hmm….doesn’t sound worth after hearing all the issue and delays you had due to façade. Good you told me all that as I am still at tender stage and could clarify all these with the sales agent now... Thanks mate !! Re: Anyone built with fowler homes recently? 13May 17, 2016 9:58 am Anyone did Contemporary facade on Portofino or on any other double storey - fowler? Re: Anyone built with fowler homes recently? 14Feb 14, 2017 6:49 am Hi Threegreenpeas, would love to read through your blog. Please PM me the link. I love to know what parts did you remove from the design and got the money back! Our land isn't registered yet and it'll probably take another year. But we are already in love with Fowlers design even though we know from reading blogs that they're extremely slow I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 105530 Anyone built with Fowler Homes? Feedback? Especially any things concerning or negatives? Have heard some horror… 0 9290 I haven’t. But have a Lowe Design home. Not only did I find Matt Lowe patronising and a bully, but the home is NOT TO CODE. I have water coming through the bricks… 1 13951 |
