Browse Forums Building A New House Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 861Sep 12, 2016 10:36 am We moved in last Saturday! Everything went into the garage and we put our bed in the bedroom and our couch in the theatre. It's been ok. Concrete dust is on everything! There are paw prints on the furniture from my cat! Its like camping in your own house! Carpets go in next Thursday and I can't wait! We don't have internet at the moment so I haven't been able to update everyone. Lots has happened though! I will do a big update today sometime hopefully Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 862Sep 12, 2016 10:57 am spuddles76 We are the same as Jasminelee. Although there have been a few issues, they have been dealt with very quickly. We were fortunate that we wanted to copy the display, so I spent a lot of time with our plans and comparing them with the display. We were only told a few months ago that the rep should have started with the display package and remove the items we didn't want. For a $350,000 build- the amount of "standard inclusions" that weren't pointed out and got missed are shocking. We now have a horrible looking alfresco (which thankfully can be fixed- but after spending this much on a build should have been picked up) and a stupid ventilated window in our ensuite toilet because we missed the slightly darker shading on the plan drawing! Lucky again it's fixable but for the price we have paid (without flooring, carpets etc) I am beyond disappointed with their service. Also communication wise- I have had no email since a slab was poured! So we haven't gotten a single update from them! Besides last week telling us there is a tile meeting this week. I just hope the building inspector doesn't find anything major in his report before we get keys. The building time is their only saving grace at this point in time. Hope the move went well! Now all the fun stuff starts! Can't wait to see it all come together! Mon K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 864Sep 12, 2016 3:23 pm Hey everyone! I thought it was about time for an update!
We got keys on the 17th August, and the driveway was laid on the Monday the 29th. It was supposed to have been the friday but the weather was not on our side. It was fortunate though, because I had picked up the entrance way looked odd, so I was able to change this! I really do need to get proper photos but here is a couple: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The whole driveway has been sealed now. There is only one slight issue, where water is not draining properly near the front step but the concrete guy has said he will come out to fix it. Hubby finished the gates: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I think they look awesome. They were my idea and hubby put my idea into reality. I'm lucky he is handy I guess. Even though he keeps telling everyone that it was his idea Landscaping has been completed: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Will have to take photos of the front. Wardrobes were installed last Monday. So excited for these! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Husbands side. We had some walls built out the front on the weekend and just need them rendered and an address plate made. Internet is in the process of being connected. We have had issue with the roller door but Centurion came out and fixed that. Ensuite toilet is leaking and a plumber should be coming out this week. That's it for now Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 865Sep 12, 2016 3:40 pm Looks stunning. Well on your way to making a beautiful home Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 866Sep 12, 2016 3:45 pm Gorgeous. Love the gates for sure. Can I ask who did your wardrobes? I have a dressing room to fit out so any referrals would be great. It looks great!! Our Home Group build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83475 Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 870Sep 12, 2016 5:50 pm Hey ms_prez and jesss_g - our wardrobes were completed through Lifestyle Wardrobes. We paid $2640 for them, which I thought was pretty good for the his and her wardrobe fitout. I had emailed Stegbar and a smaller Company and they never even got back to me. Flexi Wardrobes, for the same thing, was nearly double. I found Lifestyle Wardrobes very easy to deal with. I didn't even go visit their showroom. I sent them a copy of my plan, told them what I wanted and they came up with the design. I changed a couple of things around, which they were happy to do. When I had the tile meeting, they came and measured the space, and then once we got keys, I called them and they booked me in. Easy Peasy! That is a great price, I definitely thought it would have cost alot more too. You must be pleased. Your wardrobe is beautiful. Looking forward to seeing your floors. Thanks Robina K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 875Sep 18, 2016 11:54 am Our polished concrete finished on Friday. I love it! Paul from Designer Floors WA did an awesome job. After the first grind, and seeing all the cracks and how bad they were he gave us the option to walk away with no charge, but it was what we wanted! And after seeing the cracks we knew tiles were not an option and we didn't want wood floors because of our animals. So polished concrete it was, cracks and all!
