Browse Forums Building A New House Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 741Jul 29, 2016 8:29 pm OMG! Picky? Is this the same numpty that thinks mitred tiles are too hard? Elevation looks very smart, I think that grey agg will go very well. That towel rail is clever, looks like you can actually use both rails! Oh I'm posting as I go - not meant to be like that whoops. What's on the stone? Those 3 squarish marks? Slab is a nice colour, shame it was mucked up in the beginning though. The dreaded wait for keys? Our Custom Dale Alcock build in the Village at Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78620 Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 745Aug 04, 2016 2:42 pm We have requested a second PCI, so hopefully that happens next Friday, when the Husband is home. SS said that most people don't request a second PCI, but surely he must know us by now!! We will not be handing over final payment until everything is fixed. So next Friday will be interesting. I went to the house last night, and the only thing I noticed that had been fixed was the one of the roller doors. (it was making a quite loud clunking noise when going up or down - which the SS didn't think was a big deal!) I have booked in the concrete guy for Thursday 25th August, so hopefully we have keys by then! Our polished concrete guy is booked for the 12th September. I have asked him about three times if he can get us in earlier but no can do! Its going to be tricky, to decide if we move in prior to the floors being completed. I am worried about the concrete dust, but on the flipside full mortgage and rent will be a killer. We are currently in the process of organising a painter to seal the walls prior to the polished concrete. I have quotes for carpet, blinds, wardrobes and skirting, so just have to book those in. We have met with the front landscaper, (its part of our estate package) so waiting to see our design for that, and they are going to quote us for retic and lawn out the back. If that is too pricey we will be doing that ourselves. I am getting a quote for a painter, but it isn't part of the budget, and so most likely will be doing that ourselves!! I think that is it for now Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 747Aug 04, 2016 5:21 pm Lolly Have you tried any other companies if they can fit you in ? It's going to look so good once complete I haven't tried. The guy that I have booked has honoured his quote from last year, which I thought was fantastic, plus I follow him on Facebook and I absolutely love his work. My Husband and I met him last week and I didn't get any doggy vibes, so I'm sticking with him Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 748Aug 04, 2016 9:11 pm Good idea about the second PCI maccapacca. If we weren't so tightly booked with trades I would of held off too and got everything fixed before final payment but since we had the longest build in history it felt, we were desperate. It's come back to bite us tho, we still haven't been able to drop the front door lock so HG can have access to do fixes! So who knows who's coming and going in our home, even tho we asked to be informed who was accessing it they didn't and haven't had the courtesy to let us know. We have a leaking pipe in the laundry cavity wall that they couldn't find the leak but finally today think they've found it but it means our laundry cabinet needs pulling out and won't be reinstalled till next Tuesday tho I'm not holding my breath with the rubbish trades HG has because the leak was picked up at PCI and we were told it was fixed!!! What did the idiots fix then?! Oh yeah and our ensuite toilet rocks like a see saw when you sit on it and I can move it side to side! Why take your kids to the park when I have a see saw in my bathroom! AND we are owed $1000 for recessed tracks we didn't get because they were "missed in construction" after several emails we are yet to see the money even tho they requested our back details to make payment Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 749Aug 05, 2016 5:19 pm It sounds so frustrating Pinkjam. I sincerely hope they rectify everything for you.
This is what we are trying to not happen by completing the second PCI. Fingers crossed anyway. K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 750Aug 05, 2016 5:25 pm Last week my Husband met with the landscapers. I've told him the outside is all up to him!
As part of the estate package we get landscaping for the front yard. They asked us if we wanted to get a quote for the backyard and we thought, why not. We didn't think we would go ahead because it was most likely going to be cheaper to do it ourselves. We got the quote back today and it is $350! We are only doing lawn until we know what we want to do in the backyard. Copy of plan: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I cannot wait to tell the hubby tonight!! Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 752Aug 05, 2016 11:03 pm Wow that's amazingly cheap! Our landscape plan only cost 10 times that whoops. Nice big lawn area is a win Our Custom Dale Alcock build in the Village at Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78620 Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 754Aug 07, 2016 1:38 am It's total Eden. My feeling is each lot would get allocated an amount for front landscaping, and because we don't have lawn out the front they have been able to transfer it to the rear. Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 755Aug 10, 2016 3:27 pm Second PCI booked for Friday! Fingers crossed people!! Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 756Aug 10, 2016 3:31 pm Awesome news! I think that is it for now Just a thought...Can you ask the bank to remain on interest only payments for an extra month so you can keep renting a little bit longer and get the floors completed? My build with FHBD viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78344 Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 759Aug 11, 2016 12:19 am Mmm I wonder if they would do that. No harm in asking. Thanks for the tip Daz! Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 760Aug 11, 2016 9:32 am Hey Mrs MP, depending on who you are banking with, you can usually go from P&I to Interest Only pretty easily with a letter of variation (no forms to sign) but our bank has a minimum of 1 year at a time. In saying that, our inton periods also have one month grace before you have to start paying P&I so you might be ok Our Custom Dale Alcock build in the Village at Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78620 Thank you so much everyone.
