I got the call today. And ever since I've been feeling nervous!! It's becoming so real. Everything we have worked hard for and now I can finally move into my very own home! And I'm nervous about the amount of work to do to move out of the rental and to organise trades ect. But I'm super excited!!!!!! Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 728Jul 27, 2016 11:26 am So excited for you! I don't know how it's gone for you but to me your build has gone so quickly and quite smoothly! It's looking beautiful - I love your kitchen. Can't wait to see it all furnished. Good luck with PCI Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 731Jul 27, 2016 4:40 pm Thanks everyone! I've booked an independent inspector for PCI so that will be interesting. Our slab went down in January, so I don't know if that is fast or slow? After the drama with the slab cracking, we did have a smooth run. I guess it just felt like the last month has gone very slow as the house has been finished for some time now. At this stage, no complaints from me. Hopefully no major dramas will arise from PCI! Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 732Jul 27, 2016 4:42 pm That's awesome. We got slabbed in August and didn't get keys until May - and we're still having things from PCI dealt with ha ha. Fingers crossed there's no dramas at PCI and you'll have your keys asap! Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 735Jul 27, 2016 7:31 pm Yep you and Robina have had fantastically quick builds from "slow group" says she waiting 3 days between each of the final 6 tasks to complete Our Custom Dale Alcock build in the Village at Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78620 Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 736Jul 27, 2016 11:30 pm Lolly We had our slab 22/3 and 4 weeks from PCI but my house is smaller. ?? How much is the pci Inspector ? Thinking of getting 1. Affordable Building Inspectors quoted me $445 and Aztech quoted me $495. We ended up booking in Aztech. K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 737Jul 29, 2016 6:04 pm Had PCI today. Got told by the SS that we are very picky. Ummmm derrrr! This is our house that we are paying a lot of money for. Of course we want it perfect! We engaged an independent inspector, and while we are still waiting to receive the report, he did say that it was a well built house. There are a few paint issues and in a couple of spots the ceiling looks like it has sagged, so they are fixing that. Hubby is FIFO so he will do a second PCI in two weeks. I guess keys should happen pretty quickly after that. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Finally got to see the roller doors down! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Bathroom with mirrors in. I actually don't like them! I think they would have looked better going to the ceiling. Not sure. Maybe once I'm in and painted it might look different. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ They installed double towel rails, but they should be single so that is being fixed. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Not sure what is going on with the stone. Hopefully it can be buffed out? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Met with the polished concrete guy and he did a bit of a test spot. I wanted to make sure the concrete wasn't cream. He said it has very nice colours in the stone which is good! He also said its one of the worst slabs he's ever seen!! Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 738Jul 29, 2016 6:20 pm Well, the SS isn't paying for it, or having to put up with it if there are any imperfections.....so Bugger him!!!!! Hopefully your independent report comes back with only minor issues Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 739Jul 29, 2016 6:24 pm Love the colours of your house. I'm thinking the marks on your stone could be where they transported it so a rubber tie mark. My stone had dark marks on it. I very carefully watered down cream cleanser and they came off but mine were on the edges so you can't see them. I wanted to do this myself. You would have to be careful not to take off the shine. Your bench top is gorgeous too. I reckon your mirrors look great but it will look different after painting. Hope your report comes back with nothing too negative on it. Also love the colour of your concrete. Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 740Jul 29, 2016 7:35 pm Your home looks fantastic. You have every right to be picky or should I say you have every right to expect everything to be perfect! We are using the same feature tiles that you have in our main bathroom, I love it.
