Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building our first home in Pakenham Victoria 101Aug 20, 2015 9:33 pm Wow! Your popular DD Sounds like you need a break though. Anything more happening with the house? I noticed most of the stages at Ascot are now sold out. It's crazy! Did you ever end up finding out how much the fence would cost through your builder? I'm now thinking of asking my builder to do the front fencing since they changed the design guidelines. Fences now have to be completed before you move in, not after. Re: Building our first home in Pakenham Victoria 102Aug 21, 2015 7:42 am No, no house news. Our builder rang to let us know where they were at. I was grateful but also let them know there's no rush as we are done thinking about it for a while. Bet they don't get that often Re: Building our first home in Pakenham Victoria 104Aug 21, 2015 7:44 am Thanks for the heads up about the design guidelines changing re fencing. That's a bit cheeky isn't it! I'm glad we're getting it done by the builders. I just want them to build it and for us to move in and decorate the place. I don't want to deal with separate contractors if I can help it. Re: Building our first home in Pakenham Victoria 105Aug 22, 2015 10:11 am It is cheeky! Same, I'm thinking if I can have my builder do the fence too, it's one less problem. I need to come up with the landscape plan, running out of time! Only a few months from settlement now and time is FLYING XD Re: Building our first home in Pakenham Victoria 108Sep 03, 2015 3:12 pm Omg omg!! Look at my nearly there road DD and even gutters *squeeee* How is everything progressing for you? I finally called my builder, so I'm feeling much better. He is going to quote me for the front fence, but he reckons around 5-7k!! Ouch. Did you hear about your fence yet? Still have to do the landscape plan XD Maybe I'll give it a shot this afternoon. Re: Building our first home in Pakenham Victoria 111Sep 04, 2015 6:58 pm My road my road!!! Never thought I'd be so excited about a road!!!! Oh wow, interesting house design, sort of an open/enclosed porch on the front. Nice fence, wonder what will be put inbetween the posts. Is that a white colorbond roof? I'm shocked the estate allowed a colorbond roof, that isn't in the guidelines or I would have asked my builder for one!! Re: Building our first home in Pakenham Victoria 113Sep 11, 2015 7:48 pm I went down and saw that house. I think it looks nicer in real life and yup definitely colorbond.. guess it must be allowed, I just never knew you could.. oh well too late to change now!! How are you going? Anything exciting happening? Re: Building our first home in Pakenham Victoria 114Sep 23, 2015 8:17 am Nothing exciting house wise! Lots else happening in my life at the moment. I think I'll be posting heaps more once we get close to titling... Until then it's just waiting! At some stage I'll post when we have fence related news. Prices etc. For reference, this is the Austlii reference. My take on this is, that they would be breaking the law denying access to a homeowner in Victoria, or their agent from having… 1 9070 Hey everyone Not for me or anyone I know, just generally interested.
