Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 27, 2015 10:29 am We are building the Barossa 40 with PD. After much fluffing around we decided on this plan because we thought it would accommodate our growing family. PD have been "ok" so far. Our 1st PD consultant didn't suit us but PD took care of that quickly. Our second consultant was great. We are going to our selections appointment tomorrow. Building is supposed to start in August... Only gripe so far... Why can't PD tell you what your site costs are going to be before you go to your selection appointments. We know they have the information. It would make things far simpler if we knew how much we had to spend rather then choosing things and perhaps having to down grade once we find out the site costs. This stress seems avoidable. I bought this up with our coordinator, her response, this is how we do it. I hope things go well, I'll keep you posted... Re: Barossa 40 Porter Davis 2015 2May 28, 2015 4:17 am Hi, if PD have the information i.e. soil test and footing design then there is no reason for them not to be able to give a cost and for that matter a fixed cost. If your were to pay any extra money on your site works it would be for unforseen issues. Re: Barossa 40 Porter Davis 2015 3May 30, 2015 8:01 pm Gone to our selections appointments. Spent way too much on upgrades. Going back to WOS tomorrow to cut some costs down. Interior designers at PD were great. Kind and very helpful. Photos coming soon.
