The standard says that you must have a water tank on site, which we have but they are wanting a bigger one next to our driveway so that the RFS have access. It also states that there are hydrants in the street which RFS can access and that is what they are there for. If your home is within 60m of the hydrant than it is within requirements for RFS. We have spoken to many friends who work for the RFS and they even think what council are trying to enforce is ridiculous. Council were supposed to touch base with us two weeks ago but have neglected to do so, it mustn't be that important of an issue if they're not going to follow it up. Considering they already passed our DA from the strat with a 5,000L tank, it is incredibly unprofessional and rude to step in now and demand a larger water tank.
