Oh boo about the councils requirement, I do agree that it should of been noted as per the original application not a after thought. I hope it comes to nothing and causes you no grief. Re: Our Hillview build 382Oct 06, 2015 10:37 am Congratulations!! Waiting for pics!! I would Fight that as much as i could because that sounds like an unfair requirement. Re: Our Hillview build 383Oct 06, 2015 1:50 pm Stunning house! Good on you for building such a lovely home at your age! We are going to put a glass shelf in our main bathroom and I hope it looks good as yours. We are forking out $400 for niche in our ensuite. That requirement sounds really unfair, hope you get it sorted. Oh and one more thing, where did you get your pendants? I really like them! Oh boo about the councils requirement, I do agree that it should of been noted as per the original application not a after thought. I hope it comes to nothing and causes you no grief. The new furniture is just beautiful! M has left all his tools on the dining table from the last couple of days putting flat packs together and completing outside work. Big BOO about council. Seriously not impressed. I went and saw council this morning about it and they pretty much just shrugged their shoulders and said "although it wasn't specified on the approval from the beginning, it was implied in the bushfire requirement policy" HOW? We are BAL 12.5 (the lowest rating) They did mention that there may be room for negotiation as their policy isn't exactly clear Follow our build - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77542 Re: Our Hillview build 387Oct 07, 2015 9:40 am Abztronic Congratulations!! We placed the glass shelves in as we just couldn't justify the price of niche's I will take a photo of them for you. We picked them up at Ikea for i think $15 or so dollars each and had the carpenter install them for us. They do a wonderful job and hold so much stuff. I'm really nervous about putting too much on them though and then CRACK! Council is poo We purchased our pendant lights from Cetnaj for $70 each. They had them in a catalogue about 2 months ago? The photos are beautiful. I have laundry envy!! Your bench space is fab!!! If I posted a pic of my laundry you would pass out its a mess . The new furniture suits really well you picked perfectly. Re council, you can prove your the only one they are trying to push this crazy water tank on as every other house in the street doesn't have one at the top of there driveway, they have set the standard for what is required so why should you be any different??? Re: Our Hillview build 394Oct 07, 2015 8:30 pm Look at you guys all settled in! Your home is lovely congratulations again. Those glass shelves in the shower are great and I see you're starting on the steps to the front, cracking pace! Thanks Tribe. I couldn't agree more regarding the council situation. I'm more peeved that we had our plans approved for DA and now they want to force an after thought?! Ridiculous. The other homes in the street were passed by private certifier and not council. I still say its under councils wing and that you cannot have one rule for one home to the other. They say because of this we have a little wriggle room. If its going to be forced on us well then it will be going down the back next to the shed instead of at the driveway! Those 2am unpacking hours weren't the best The steps are going in the centre of the retaining wall out the back. Hopefully it all turns out as pictured as it supposed to separate outdoor entertaining to playing area. I can't imagine council trying to impose something other than what's standard. Especially for BAL 12.5. Interesting though as I assessed our block as a 19 and we aren't required to do anything as drastic as you. Go to this link http://www.as3959.com.au/ That will hopefully help. Don't let them bring you down!!!! Glad you moved in all good too. House still looks amazing. Sonja and I are jealous! Gail Re: Our Hillview build 399Oct 09, 2015 8:59 pm Congratulations on the big move m+j. good luck with council. Stand your ground with that one.
