Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 20, 2015 11:03 am Our builder uses Beaumont Tiles and after visiting a showroom we were very uninspired and struggling to even find one tile that we'd like in our new home. We're considering getting the tiling done ourselves and the builder has said previously that anything we want to do ourselves will have to be done after handover. Our main concern is that if we do the tiles ourselves how will that affect the other installations that the builder will be doing before handover, for example: vanities, toilets, mirrors, fixtures etc. Has anyone else had any experience or know anything on this topic? Our builder offers a choice between Beaumont and a more upmarket retailer. For the bathrooms, initially we were uninspired with Beaumont, but after looking at the other retailer, and back again, realised there was more we could do with the basic range than we first thought. So you may find if you work through the options in your mind a bit more, you may come up with a solution that works. Another option is you could approach your builder for the option of supplying your own tiles, and having them lay them. Re: Tiling After Handover 3May 20, 2015 1:04 pm Like mentioned above, i would push to supply your own tiles - laid by their tiler. That is what we are doing Re: Tiling After Handover 4May 20, 2015 1:56 pm The other issue is that the tiles are laid by Beaumont and they do the waterproofing as well.
