Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 27, 2008 1:30 pm Is it normal for builders to have moved from base stage to constructing the frame, before invoicing us for the base stage?
Our frame is almost completely up now, and we've only just revecieved our base stage invoice (which doesnt cover framing) Re: base stage to frame stage without payment 2Jun 27, 2008 1:31 pm sssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: base stage to frame stage without payment 3Jun 27, 2008 1:41 pm what is the problem?
You don't have to worry about the builder not getting their money! Re: base stage to frame stage without payment 6Jun 27, 2008 1:46 pm normally the "accounts receivable" is by far the most efficient department of a volume builder....
If they're a bit slow.... more $$$'s in your pocket for longer! (or at least saving on interest from the bank!) Built Porter Davis "Dromana" 2007. LOL!!!!!!!
they just keep going (i can't complain, i can't wait to move out) ) Re: base stage to frame stage without payment 11Jun 27, 2008 8:51 pm Quote: no problem just confusing is all. I more disappointed that I never got photos of my slab without any frame up You could always ask them to rip the fram down so you can take some photos of the bare slab. I'm sure that would trigger a bill to be posted pretty quickly Re: base stage to frame stage without payment 13Jun 27, 2008 8:58 pm We had a similar situation, I quickly learnt that the construction did not follow a set start-finish-pay-start etc pattern. It just flows. Geoff - Decophile. Re: base stage to frame stage without payment 14Jun 27, 2008 9:00 pm razzle  The frame is completly finished now, and we got the slab/base stage invoice today I told you.......sssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh! mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: base stage to frame stage without payment 15Jun 27, 2008 9:26 pm Agree that accounts department is by far the most efficient part of our builders. On a Friday afternoon, at 5:20pm, I got an email with the lock up stage payment. On that afternoon, the painters were still finishing painting the eaves! The paint would have been wet, but the invoice was on its way... I guess God didn't use subbies... This certainly doesn't look good. I would be engaging with an independent inspector to have a look at this. As for the unscheduled site visits, most builders are quite… 1 28312 This is 100% true.
