Did you end up bringing up the issues you had with the bulkhead at the top? In my opinion I still think it looks great I guess you have to weigh up if it is always going to be something that niggles at you. Our kitchen has the same bulkhead at the top of the cabinets and I think its actually just a piece of infill of the same material the cabinetry is made of stuck in there. Fingers crossed for a speedy build from this point on for you Re: Fairmont Homes CustomKDR - 8 weeks(ish) left! 275May 12, 2016 4:40 pm I spoke to someone in the construction department who then spoke to the SS. Turns out there is absolutely no record anywhere of us asking for the bulkhead. I am so freakin annoyed. I tried to put everything in writing (emails) to our sales consultant for this purpose but he just refused to reply to emails - he would always call me. He told me that he had sorted it and it would now be a bulkhead. I did not realise it would need to be noted on the final plans as the original type of cabinet and infill was not noted on there... So now they are saying "You signed off on the final plans..." The sales consultant also told me it cost the same amount as the infill so there were no alarm bells about the lack of variation. Stupid me for trusting their staff I guess, although what could I do? He told me he had sorted it, he did not tell me anything needed to be done.. I sent the construction department the email I sent to my sales consultant back in July about changing the bulkheads but haven't heard back from them yet. Grrr... Re: Fairmont Homes CustomKDR - 8 weeks(ish) left! 276May 12, 2016 4:43 pm CustomStirling Hey bobbin, have you received a phone call from your ss regarding your first inspection yet? We received our letter today and it has me all excites! No, not yet. I think with Fairmont they only really give you one weeks notice of PCI so I'm not expecting it for about 6-8 weeks still. Re: Fairmont Homes CustomKDR - 8 weeks(ish) left! 277May 12, 2016 4:58 pm I don't think I am going to fight it. BUT.. the infill and cornice doesn't line up with the edge of the cabinets. Is that normal? It annoys me when I look at that picture... Fairmont Homes CustomKDR - 8 weeks(ish) left! 278May 13, 2016 6:39 pm Tiling has started! And the tiler left a window open, score!
