Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building first home in Banksia Grove 4May 13, 2015 10:24 am Hi Rob. Thanks for your reply. What stage are you in with your build? Photos of selections at all?!? haha. Hi infuego, yeah I am looking forward to having storage as we have none in our house at the moment. The bedroom is my favourite room and a "must have" in any plan we go with. Who did you end up signing with? Re: Building first home in Banksia Grove 5May 13, 2015 4:53 pm I'm just at siteworks stage ATM. Slab hopefully Friday or early next week. soo excited. I havent started my own thread yet haha just browse thru. I don't know how to post pics either lol I've basically gone very neutral colours- bathrooms same colour as Bristol ensuite. External is cream bricks with monument roof. Re: Building first home in Banksia Grove 6May 13, 2015 11:48 pm Oh that's exciting! You will be able to see your house come together soon! I posted mine through the tapatalk app which is initially confusing enough to start with. The colours sound like a good choice, neutral is very 'in' at the moment and it means you can decorate with almost any furnishings. Please keep me updated on your build as I can't wait to hear how it goes, can only imagine how excited you are! Re: Building first home in Banksia Grove 7May 13, 2015 11:56 pm As soon as I saw the plan I thought diffently a redink house .he he . I built with redink a year ago . Build its self was pretty good . Never seen a plan with a dog room before . Your wir is to die for . Good luck with your build . Re: Building first home in Banksia Grove 8May 14, 2015 12:03 am Yeah, I find the redink plans have well thought out storage and bigger rooms, of course depending on the block, some rooms may have to get smaller by 10 - 50cm or so. Yes we have a dog room, mainly as we know that we will always have dogs. We are now planning to put a built in robe in there so when we eventually sell it can be sold as study/bed 5. We may decide to change the use of the room later but we don't like the dogs having nowhere warm to sleep when it is raining other than our bedroom lol. Re: Building first home in Banksia Grove 11May 15, 2015 3:08 pm A dog's room - that is adorable! I have the laundry room for one of my cats and planned it around her - lol, the things we do! Daisy's Providence Wellard build with Domain Homes - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72176 Re: Building first home in Banksia Grove 12May 15, 2015 3:28 pm Hi Sammy, we also built in Banksia Grove two years ago and went through Aussie Living. We found them to be very good but I think that all the main builders are much the same and the only big difference is the Building Supervisor. If he is good, you will have minimal problems, if he is not so good the build may not go as smoothly as you would like. It may be an idea to check with a couple of owners in the area who built, or who are building with the company you fancy and ask them how it went/is going. Good luck, exciting times lie ahead. Re: Building first home in Banksia Grove 14May 15, 2015 3:53 pm Daisyinthedesert A dog's room - that is adorable! I have the laundry room for one of my cats and planned it around her - lol, the things we do! Yeah, we thought long and hard about it and then we had a thunderstorm and I didn't want their muddy footprints on my carpet, but didn't want them outside as they would just get dirtier and they usually sleep inside. So the solution is a tiled dog room as we don't have a need for a study just yet as it is just us, with two kids that visit every school holidays. Maybe when we have a child of our own we will need more room for things, but I am hoping the storage will be adequate in this new house Re: Building first home in Banksia Grove 16May 16, 2015 2:20 pm SammysHomeAdventure Thanks John for your advice, how do you find living in Banksia Grove? We are loving it Sammy, around our area its very quiet and most home owners take care of their property. Just about anything you may need is within fairly close proximity and the Coles centre and servo are an added bonus. We lived in Carramar for a couple of years and actually prefer it here. I have a lot of info on my thread about my build which has helped quite a few people, if you are interested let me know and I will send you the link. You will find the people on this site extremely helpful and supportive which is fantastic. Good luck with your build. Re: Building first home in Banksia Grove 17May 16, 2015 7:35 pm Looks huge. How much setback do you have on your block? Re: Building first home in Banksia Grove 18May 16, 2015 10:05 pm It's around 3 meters to back fence and 4-5meters to front curb. Re: Building first home in Banksia Grove 19May 18, 2015 7:48 pm Love the floor plan, it has a really nice layout All the best in deciding on a builder So it looks like we finally have some movement on site!
