Well, they will get fed up about it before I will Re: Ben Trager Secret Harbour - PCI done & Key Date 247Nov 28, 2015 1:48 pm PCI was yesterday. All went well considering there are lots of things still to do. PCI2 will be 11 Dec and then keys 14 Dec for which hubby will be flying home. Didn't take many photos only the glass balustrade that was fitted on Thursday. I absolutely love it. So glad we spent the extra $$$. Yeah because we are rushing you at 53 weeks haha Air con was fully installed, electrics weren't finished so could test any of that. Wouldn't have mattered because there was no power until the electrics are finished anyway. No shower screens, mirrors, painting isn't finished, no fly screens, paving isn't finished, intelligent homes hasn't even started. That's without all the little fixes. Busy 10 days ahead in our build. Re: Ben Trager Secret Harbour - PCI done & Key Date 250Nov 28, 2015 3:52 pm So I've been off here for ages, busy doing things around my house and also still no phone line/internet so I've bought myself a dongle so i can get on the net instead of using my phone for everything! Sorry you had so many issues at your PCI.. my first PCI sounds very similar.. it took them 2 months from my first PCI to handover.. at handover there was 16 outstanding issues.. that was on the 23rd Oct.. I had to fight the area manager to get my keys... they are still fixing the issues.. Just so you know that they technically can't conduct a PCI meeting until the house is livable.. the building commission told me that when i rang and complained after my first PCI. I'm loving being in my new house but there is so many things I look at and just cringe, poor workmanship.. My tip look at he ceilings really closely, i couldn't see it at my inspection but now at night when it's dark and you turn on lights you can see pretty much every join in the plaster and in one room there is trow marks.. when the supervisor was out at my house fixing a few things, my mum pointed it out to him as i was at work, he pretty much said too bad because I didn't pick it up at PCI they won't do anything about it.. even though it's crap workmanship.. Re: Ben Trager Secret Harbour - PCI done & Key Date 251Nov 28, 2015 3:58 pm Sorry to hear that Maiden. I have 9 holes in my ceilings. All under the slab. The electricians couldn't find the cables because the ceiling fixers had covered everything up so the had to drill two holes, on for the light and one so the could put there hands up to see where the cables were! I will be taking a torch and shining it on every patched hole to make sure I'm happy with it. That's bad they won't do anything about it too. You'd think after the rough ride you've had they would be accommodating in fixing things for you. Re: Ben Trager Secret Harbour - PCI done & Key Date 252Nov 28, 2015 4:15 pm hahaha you've got to be kidding.. they openly admit my build has been a nightmare but aren't prepared to fix things. I rang my CLO after handover and was literally screaming down the phone at her because at PCI the SS had agreed to fix the rough edge on my bath, which was caused when they had to re-do the bathroom because of the blocked bath.. but then he came out when my dad was here doing work one day and said nah we won't be fixing that.. I was livid.. I was like just because you have my money now you can't go back on your word and refuse to fix things because you now think it's within tolerance.. I've never been so mad.. just like they agreed to replace the lock in the garage at the first PCI meeting back in Aug, it has been raised every time as an issue.. then when he was here the other week doing stuff he told my mum the lock wasn't being changed.. so i wrote another filthy email to my CLO and they have now ordered it and will fix it in 2 weeks.. my weeps holes only just got done last week after my building inspector told BTH they had to do it because it was Australian standard... I've been waiting for a tin of paint since the 23rd Oct to fix the bad paint job on the door frames.. i literally have a hand print in the door frame! I have light switches that are crooked, the toilet seats were on one side, not in the middle, glue over spray on all my cupboards, the cleaners who came in after handover because my place was a pig sty when handed over, there was sh*t down the side of the toilet bowl and urine all over the rim and seat.. they were horrified at the state it was given to me.. Re: Ben Trager Secret Harbour - PCI done & Key Date 253Nov 28, 2015 4:34 pm It does sound as though it's been a nightmare Maiden. If they are not finished ours by keys, I'm not handing over the money until I have it in writing what needs to be fixed and a time period it will be done. If not, no keys for us but no money for them either. Hubby will go ballistic if it's not finished. Supervisor has promised it will be ready and he will be asking to fly home early so look out if it's not. Hope you get somewhere with them soon and the nightmare is finally behind you and you can start enjoying life in your home. Still waiting on some pics from you Re: Ben Trager Secret Harbour - PCI done & Key Date 255Nov 28, 2015 5:28 pm In my opinion, they have taken on too much work and don't have the trades to deliver the builds in a decent timeframe. Should've just concentrated on quality over quantity. It's a shame that BTH have left many clients with no other choice but to accept builds that are unfinished with the promise of fixing things after. I don't want trades coming in and out after I've moved in. Especially when they've already had 53 weeks and counting to finish it. I've had my problems but nothing compared to others. I've been pretty happy with the majority of workmanship not all of it but most. I probably will find things too once we move in. It's pretty hard to pick everything up when you're just staring at white everywhere. You start going "snow blind" Thankfully I have had a building inspector at each stage. I didn't bother him with this PCI as I knew there was no point because there was still to much to do. I will be contacting him to come to my 2nd one in a fortnight though. He will probably pick things up I've missed. Plus it gives me peace of mind. To give the supervisor his due, he had everything I had on my list too and had dates for most things. Will just have to wait and see now. Re: Ben Trager Secret Harbour - PCI done & Key Date 256Nov 28, 2015 5:47 pm I wouldn't recommend them to anyone but that is just my opinion and I told them that at handover, you have to fill out a questionnaire at handover, i was very honest! My bank transferred the final payment over during the week of handover even though i said i wanted a bank cheque!! So i was like I've paid, you guys can work around me now.. gave them 2 weeks to come in and fix stuff while my polished concrete floors were done, but all they did was paint the man hole! I'll do a thread with photos once my story with BTH is done, then it's a full story Re: Ben Trager Secret Harbour - PCI done & Key Date 257Nov 28, 2015 7:00 pm Althom By the sounds of this thread and others Ben Trager are to be avoided? So far my workmanship and timeframes have been great it's the communication side of things that have let me down so far. Though my roof has only just gone on so I could be speaking too soon Re: Ben Trager Secret Harbour - PCI done & Key Date 258Nov 28, 2015 9:05 pm Ahhh your glass looks amazing! I wish I had thought to do the same!! Maiden I feel like we are about to have the same problems as you Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Ben Trager Secret Harbour - PCI done & Key Date 259Dec 06, 2015 11:17 am Well only 5 days left to finish my house Ben Trager. Still no Intelligent Homes, no shower screens, no mirrors, whole of internal upper floor and stairs still not painted, laundry and store door missing, ceilings needed repainted after the electricians drilled holes everywhere, external painting not finished and that's not including all the little "fixes". They haven't even finished off my portico. It's still brick and wood frame. Sigh! Will this ever be over. Re: Ben Trager Secret Harbour - PCI done & Key Date 260Dec 06, 2015 3:10 pm My fingers are firmly crossed for you DD it sounds a lot of work but it's not impossible either, let's hope they are organised!!
