Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 08, 2015 7:02 pm Hi all, We have just had our tiles laid and turns out the supplier sent the wrong colour , to rip up the tiles would add a couple of weeks onto our hand over and we don't mind the colour. I am also worried about damage to slab, re screeding, waterproofing etc - arrgghhhhh! So frustrating as at our tiling meeting I said the colour was wrong, the ss and I checked the delivery docket and it had the correct colour listed - so I thought it was my memory (14 months ago). At the same time I don't want to regret my decision in a year. Tiles laid are more grey than our original choice and lighter. Can I please have your opinions on the photos below. You don't want to regret it, I'd make them redo it again if I didn't absolutely love it and wasn't the original colour that I chose. In saying that, to me they don't look that bad and close to what you wanted. Though pictures and real life are different. Re: Wrong tiles laid - help/opinions needed 4May 08, 2015 8:18 pm I think they look good but you have to like them at least as much as the originals. Re: Wrong tiles laid - help/opinions needed 7May 09, 2015 8:39 am I think they look nice and compliment the other colours. I understand your dilemma, but I wouldn't replace them in this situation as I would be concerned with damaging the bathroom in the process. If the tiles were a completely different colour such as red, blue, yellow that would be a different story. I would tell your builder that you are not happy since you informed them that they were not the correct tile prior to laying and they proceeded to lay. I would also state that you are hesitant in replacing due to the high chance of damage to the bathroom and lead time it would take. I would ask for whoever is responsible (builder, tiler, tile shop) to compensate by paying for the wall tiles to be floor to ceiling in this bathroom. This would be cheaper for all parties and less headache for you. Lynne Re: Wrong tiles laid - help/opinions needed 9May 09, 2015 9:22 pm I really like them, it may have worked out in your favour . They work really well with the vanity and the wall tile. I wonder if the original one may be too similar to the vanity color. But you have to be happy, if you're not 100% loving them then you should change while you can. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76666 our custom build on 25 acres I had new concrete laid, extended the alfresco and had the sidewalks concreted too.
