Tks peeps x
DISGUSTING experience today.
Not builder's fault. Their electrical contractor.
At handover, we had no TV points, just holes in wall with wire poking out. After previous concerns, this was not an issue. House won't fall over without TV connection. House could fall over if brick overhang is wider than brick

So TV point no-show went on our 'maintenance list' ready for fixing at three months.
Simonds gunned our maintenance ... sent out their self-professed 'fk-up fixer'. Mr was happy with his work, told him: "all good, let's just hope we don't need the fk-up, fk-up fixer out now". Fk-up fixer, laffed.
A week ago, the electrical company booked their post-fix (TV connection and other small items) appointment with hubby direct. Mr took the day off work today to let them in. He forfeited a full day's income plus re-organized his week so he could take a truck load up north this evening after electrician had been. Electrician was booked for 10am this morn.
I get a phone call at 8.45 from the secretary/messenger:
Madam: "You are expecting electrician at 10, well he's not coming."
Me: "Oh (disappointed) OK, when can he come?"
Her: "No one's coming. The supervisor told me its not our fault. You should have picked it up at your handover."
Then again, more accusingly:" You should have picked it up at handover, why didn't you see it, didn't you notice you didn't have a TV socket" (I almost heard her sigh ... you know like 'gee, you stupid idiots')
That got my back up. So who is this all-knowing Oracle that can comment on my builder's processes? My contract was with my builder and in it was to fit me two TV sockets (of which I have none). I did not appreciate this flukey with the sex appeal of a cigarette butt telling me what I should be looking for when I accept a house. A house that took eight months to build (hundreds of hours of work, thousands of items) as if I notice every spec. My main concern that the walls, roof etc were solid. I was so mad.
"And we did fit 'warm white' globes" said Oracle (of course she knows, Oracle knows everything right?)
Yes, I put on my maintenance list that we got cool white, not warm white (as specified in my contract). Really, I didn't care about pathetic light globes. They are just globes. But after this ... I'm livid ... they can fit my sockets AND my warm white globes thank you very much! We have since looked at the globes they're got 4000K stamped on them. Sorry love, they're cool white, warm white is 2700k.
What a disgusting attitude. Sure we had a few hiccups through our build, but our builder was completely respectful and professional and did a great job rectifying everything.
As for these amateurs ... how dare they take the booking with us direct a week earlier, making us believe they're going to make good on what they were paid to do but didn't do right the first time. Then tell us 1.25 hours before agreed time: "nup, sorry, don't feel like doing that now, tuff titties"
Builders should really employ and manage their own trades. They would not have these problems.

Oh you have GOT to be kidding! What a giant a** hat!!! I bet you're mad, I'd be furious too. Have you spoken to Simonds? What's going to happen now? Omg, I really want to call her a name right now but it's not that classy of me on a public forum! Lol
