Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building MainVue Ivory 436 61Feb 06, 2016 5:41 pm Bricks are finished, insulation is in. Think plaster is booked in for next week as well as brick wash and site clean. Admin asked a few questions in relation to my cabinets so they must be getting fabricated at the moment. I am sure I'll get an invoice for lockup next week. Building MainVue Ivory 436 KDR Building MainVue Ivory 436 62Feb 22, 2016 9:07 pm Plaster is done, cabinets have been delivered. Hopefully they can finish next week to allow plumbing and electrical fit off complete. When do they think you will be in? Shouldn't be too much longer I hope. What happened with your painting that held things up so much? At least the tillers look like they've done a good job viewtopic.php?t=81336 Building with MainVue...Modified Ivory 436...our journey Re: Building MainVue Ivory 436 71Apr 03, 2016 10:02 pm Mid to late May. Painters keep not showing up for work, they also started using the wrong stain. I'm happy the tiling seems to have worked out. Saint, Have you worked out what size table you going to have in your kitchen living ? Building MainVue Ivory 436 73Apr 04, 2016 10:01 am Tudu Mid to late May. Painters keep not showing up for work, they also started using the wrong stain. I'm happy the tiling seems to have worked out. Saint, Have you worked out what size table you going to have in your kitchen living ? We are keeping our old dining table because we love it. It's recycled timber from the hall floor of one of our local schools....walked and danced on it myself (so much history in that wood) Anyway..... It's big....2.5m X 1.05m and seats 10 people comfortably, 12 if we want. We will have about 1.5m each end between the walls, so should be OK. What are you going to put there? Was looking at a 3m or 2.7m table, but started think it might be too big so not sure now. The bench is pretty big at 3m x 1.4 so a smaller table to have additional walk around space might be better. Looking for a mess mate with black steel legs. Similar to below with these chairs. Thanks snyde, think we both started build same time. Your place has come along nice and quick. Your tradies must be more reliable, mine almost never show up when there supposed to. Re: Building MainVue Ivory 436 76Apr 04, 2016 11:52 am That's cool, I like itMaybe get it custom made? That's what we did...more expensive to do it that way but it will be more unique, last longer and grow in character. Our table is already 20 years old (timber itself much older of course). We were thinking about similar chairs too. We are going to wait and see how our floor looks before we buy anything else that has timber as we want to make sure it all works together. viewtopic.php?t=81336 Building with MainVue...Modified Ivory 436...our journey Re: Building MainVue Ivory 436 77Apr 22, 2016 7:47 pm So where are you up to with your build now Tudu? viewtopic.php?t=81336 Building with MainVue...Modified Ivory 436...our journey Re: Building MainVue Ivory 436 78Apr 22, 2016 9:41 pm Painters are coming back for a second try, they were supposed to be there everyday this week but still haven't shown up. It's holding everything up. Still to go flooring, appliances, wardrobe, mirrors and hardware. Looking forward to the house, but not moving everything again Building MainVue Ivory 436 KDR Re: Building MainVue Ivory 436 79Apr 30, 2016 6:02 pm Floors installed yesterday, I believe they worked from 6am to almost midnight to get it done. It looks like they're on track now. Great idea with the cut out in the wall. It looks like our back hall is going to be pretty dark unless the lights are on. We were thinking we might need a couple of skylights further down the track (when the budget recovers). Only problem for us, if we had the cut out would be that it wouldn't be so quiet down there....that's where our study and daughters bedrooms are. Bit of a 'catch 22' for us. Are you happy with the finishes?
