Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 24, 2006 8:05 pm Hello all, I've been following another thread here in this forum about a slab layed in the wrong location. Quite funny if it wasnt really happening to someone. I hope it all works out for the persons involved.
My question is as follows: I recently checked on my vacant block of land that I will be building on shortly, fingers crossed. It is in a new subdivision, corner block, with no immediate neighbours as yet as titles have just come thru. Therefore the numbering is still in lot format with some houses being built showing lot and street numbers. Anyhow there are two yellow signs being displayed from a local builder requesting a building permit and a relaxation of boundary. The funny thing is that it has been placed on my block of land incorrectly for an address across the street. I was just wondering what would happen if a house was erected on my block by mistake, I am sure it would never get that far, but interested to know none the less. Anybody have any stories or similar experience please share. Thanks Re: House being built on wrong block - HYPERTHETICAL ? 3Oct 25, 2006 12:36 pm Surely a quick call to the builder in question would resolve thuis. Also to confirm that there is no issues impacting your land anyway.
I would also suggest that the public notice period required by council would need to be repeated as the sign is in the wrong location Adrian B Re: House being built on wrong block - HYPERTHETICAL ? 4Oct 25, 2006 1:08 pm If I didn’t think it could happen I’d think your question was crazy!!
BUT we all now better….. Thoughts on the builder who put the sign on the wrong block of land????? It would never go that far……? But what a laugh if it did. Scoop for you. Don’t take your eyes off your block of land, before and after you build. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com reply 5Dec 12, 2008 6:24 pm I don't really know how to answer this question..
