I think its just down to the company. From memory BGC has a bit of a reputation for going a little slower than other builders Re: Finally starting my own thread..! 44May 23, 2015 8:51 pm Our Honeywood Build The people down the road from us got their slab 2 MONTHS after us and are moving in next week don't know why this builder is so slow! I know the feeling - we are one of the last to move into our street, only ones left are all Commodore houses!!! Re: Finally starting my own thread..! 45May 23, 2015 8:51 pm It sucks hey Sinurt! why do you think they are so slow? Re: Finally starting my own thread..! 47May 23, 2015 9:29 pm Our Honeywood Build It sucks hey Sinurt! why do you think they are so slow? I have no idea, I think they take on too many jobs and just don't have the contractors to cover them all. My SS said he had 30+ odd jobs on and was finding it tough to get round them all. Since the feature wall went up we've had no progress, and I think they still need to come finish it. Our electrical items were delivered though so I am hoping they get put in next week!! Re: Finally starting my own thread..! 48May 24, 2015 12:36 am I feel your pain with the slow build. Your place looks great though and the shutters will be stunning! Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77196 Re: Finally starting my own thread..! 49May 24, 2015 9:48 pm Okay spoke too soon! A friend who lives in the estate just messaged me saying there were people at the house sweeping out water and thought that maybe there was a flood or something so I had to go check and to my surprise it was just the plasterers doing the white set! They had their flood light set up and were working away so just drove past but pretty happy that stuff is happening!!! Who would have thought, 7pm on a Sunday night hope they have enough light and do a good job!! Exited to see it in the day time! will post pics when I can Re: Finally starting my own thread..! 50May 24, 2015 9:51 pm Our Honeywood Build Okay spoke too soon! Re: Finally starting my own thread..! 52May 25, 2015 2:29 pm Do you guys think it's weird that the kitchen bulkhead hasn't been done and the plasterers are there? I saw that Leanne's bulkhead was done before the white set and I'm getting a bit concerned as there's nothing just 31c ceiling the whole way from kitchen to living.... :/ I am starting to think they have forgotten all about it.. Like shouldn't it have gotten done at roof timbers stage like the theater recess? How exciting I would give them a call about the bulkhead, you would think it would have been done by now?! Re: Finally starting my own thread..! 55May 25, 2015 10:37 pm I know! I was so surprised today when I saw the glazing had been done! Re: Finally starting my own thread..! 56May 25, 2015 10:39 pm I thought of calling them about the bulkhead and asking but I hate that it's going to hold up progress I just want to get to lock up and then they can fix it haha. I probably should call them before the ceilings are painted though. I just think how could you forget something so major?
