Hi All,
I'm going to be building a new house fairly soon and will be having either my own plans drawn up or customizing those of my builders.
The one thing I haven't been able to find info online for is around eaves.
I am having a design with a number of passive solar design elements so naturally will need to have sufficent wave length on my northern facing windows.
My questio is this:
Can you have overhanging eaves of around 900 to 1200 length (on a hip and valley roof of standard pitch) WITHOUT having to have verical support beams on the outside (i.e. like a porch or verandah)
What I'm wanting to do is jus extend the natural overhanging eaves to the appropriate length, without turning it into a porch or verandah.
Is this possible?
Any help or advice would be much appreciated
Phil
