Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 18, 2015 7:12 pm We are building with Fowler Homes - Kingston 34 Everything has been good. Process started in July 2014... long wait but the vendor is so nice and fowler has been nothing short of helpful with us. Will keep this posted just warming up Started Saving: July 2013. Started looking around through various home builders, options to build or buy existing. Deposited land: July 2014. We were originally interested in Building in Freemans Ridge particularly stage 23. However the Opportunity for land in an established area had come up. We didn't want to move anywhere further then Hoxton Park. My husbands family had been living in Edensor Park since they moved from Nz in 1998. Signed Tender: October 2014. After so many brochures, home builder packs and Litres of Petrol driving to all the display homes. We decided to buy with Fowler. We were interested in Clarendon - Sheriden 34. However The sales rep said it was too big of a house to put on a 600m2 block. With fowlers designer inclusions and their ability to Custom Build it was a yes yes for us. After Clarendon we sort of lost hope of building a 5 bedroom but to build a 6 bed and 3 bathroom with Fowler we were happy. No to mention you can also alter the Office/Study into another room. There is no display home for Kingston but the layout suits us perfect!! Sales Rep - Eli Haddad was very helpful during this process. He answered all our questions promptly. Settlement: April 2015 More to come. Regards, Lot 7 Teleo Tovio Re: Runcorn St, St Johns Park - Fowler - Kingston 34 2Apr 19, 2015 7:46 pm I search this forum a lot for Fowler and never really see anyone else building with them. We are building a fairly modified Santorini -35 (up in the Hunter Valley), again there are no display homes for this but we too liked the layout from plan. We have had no problems at all with Fowler thus far, just waiting for our blocks subdivision to be signed off (taking forever!!) Look for to seeing progress when you guys get started! Fowler Santorini 35 Tender - Oct 14 Dirt turned - Apr 16 Slab - Apr 16 Frames/Truss - Apr 16 Roof tiles - May 16 Sheeting - June 16 Lockup -June 16 http://bradlysantorini.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Runcorn St, St Johns Park - Fowler - Kingston 34 3Apr 22, 2015 7:51 pm Scottbradly1986 I search this forum a lot for Fowler and never really see anyone else building with them. Hi fellow fowler builder. Our land was registered about 2 weeks ago and we are due for settlement on 27th April 2015. We ate currently going through pre construction stage of getting plans approved with fowler Victoria Lamb has been very helpful during this stage. We have paid our 5% deposit and now just waiting for things to roll into place. Our land took a while to register as part of it belonged to council. The vendor was so nice to us allowing us to extend settlement two weeks without any penalty rates as we had lapsed our loan offer and extensions. We are yet to go for our color consultations but we already know what we are choosing lol. What stage are you upto? Re: Runcorn St, St Johns Park - Fowler - Kingston 34 4Apr 22, 2015 8:54 pm Hi Hope you don't mind if I join this thread us fowler builders are far and few between. We originally started with wisdom but gave them the flick early on as problems started from day one. As fie fowler they actually gave us the option to choose one of their designs or go custom… which is what we did. We are going a custom 48, 5 bdrm, 4 bthrm at bingara. We originally signed up last April, land reg in nov 14 and are hopefully going to selections in the coming weeks. Anything info you can share on selections and pricing would be greatly appreciated I'm actually scared at how much we are going to add. Lol ourfowlerbuildbingara.blogspot.com Re: Runcorn St, St Johns Park - Fowler - Kingston 34 5Apr 22, 2015 10:33 pm Welcome. Wow sounds like you got a pretty big house! Congrats. We are going with everything in the designer inclusions package. Not too fussed about anything else as we have many good friends in every trade. We don't have down lights or bi folds all this our friends can do. We are in love with the inclusions though! I've picked out everything already to go. I'm not going to bother at the color selection. I got a headache flicking back and forth on the net before our tender plans were ready. and I downloaded all the item pics included. I've drawn up a PowerPoint of electrical placings and I have created a 3rd version of the house using an app. call me crazy but I'm well prepared. When they gave me the color pack I had already 5 million copies. I had already drawn up where I want power points home hub tv points to go. We also got a fibre optic network upgrade to phase 3 and extra two power points. I think it's 3 - We deleted the driveway. We got free air con upto 12 ducts worth 12k We got free tender ext. Worth 3 We swapped the main en suite for walk in robe 1K we deleted sliding door powder to guest and just put a wall credit back $100 We swapped bed 5 and upstairs living no charge. We extended en suite to double shower with shower heads on each end 1K We cut u shape kitchen bench no charge. We repositioned gas bayonet to outside for outdoor bbq area (we never use heaters inside) no cost we added hot n cold point to alfresco for out door bbq area 660 we got credit on slab We got credited on cut and fill. We put in all the changes at first to see what the tender would be at most with all changes we wanted. then price started going back from there. We started at 380+ Now we are looking at 370+ Now we've paid deposit 350+ left And still saving and paying off furniture white goods. Concrete, fence blinds and landscaping is almost in process for. We were dealing with Dan Thomas (who was super great), he has since left and we are dealing with Victoria but primarily Lawrence Buckler, both seem nice to deal with thus far. We are currently waiting on a block to be subdivided in the Hunter Valley, Apr last year we put a deposit down and it is only now sitting at the LPI to be processed....not entirely happy with it, but that is the council and the vendors, nothing to do with Fowler. Fowler have been great though as we signed up with the 'Summer Sale' last year and they have allowed us to keep it even though it now finished about 5 months ago lol. I want to upload a PDF of our house plans to show how we modified the Santorini....can i do that? or do i have to make an image and link a photobucket page or something? I heard the rain was really bad up there were uz affected? summer sale has great inclusions I can't wait to see your plans. We settled on our land yesterday so now just getting approval from council before we can move forward. Hope it's all well up the coast. Hope you don't mind me joining in the conversation. We are a bit ahead of you guys - tendered July 14, colour selections mid Dec 14 (our variations were pretty detailed and took ages to come back), electricals in feb, contract signed at Easter and build commenced last week tues 28/4/15. Of course, it has since rained and now we have a beautifully excavated muddy puddle! We are building a fairly modified version of the Monte Carlo 43+ in upper north shore Sydney. We have 3 kids under 4 years and can't wait to have more space. It's a 40 week (!!!) build duration so holding tight. Look forward to seeing how your builds progress and happy to help if we can Re: Runcorn St, St Johns Park - Fowler - Kingston 34 9May 02, 2015 9:00 pm Threegreenpeas Hi guys. Thanks for posting this!
