Our entire house would have been NOT compliant with the Building Code of Australia and/or Industry Standards. If you are having problems already get the Inspector to inspect your build at various stages or when something doesn't seem right!! Trust me!! In the end, I got the builder to agree to render and paint the garage at their cost as the bricks tried and failed to fix it. The front of my house was rendered so they just had to continue it. It could be an option - providing the brickwork is of good structural quality, this could be an option of you, depending not eh style f your house.
