Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 13, 2015 3:00 pm We are building a new modern style home and have changed our roof colour choice from Monument to the new Wallaby. The brick is Island Block Coloured blocks in Mist and Bluestone (which are a pale cream/grey and dark charcoal). I am having trouble deciding on a colour for the cladding which goes below the roof but above the bricks. I don't want to have too many different colours. One possibility would be to match the roof colour to the cladding but not sure if it would look ok and if they would match well being a different product and a different orientation. Or to introduce another colour such as Dulux Stepney. Sorry but I don't know how to add a picture! Re: New build - color combination to go with Colorbond Walla 2Apr 13, 2015 8:19 pm Just linking in some images for you off the Island block website: Mist: Bluestone: Wallaby Roof: Based on the web pictures Wallaby looks kind of similar to the Bluestone, and not too different from Stepney. It may help to describe the facade a bit. Is it mostly mist with a bluestone feature wall? Is the weatherboard adjacent to both brick colours, or just one? Does the cladding go right across the facade, or just above the windows? What colour are you doing the roof facia? What about the window frames? It may make sense to pick out one of those. It's hard to tell without seeing the layout of the areas of colours, but an idea I had was to do Wallaby roof and gutters, and a dune facia, and then you could use dune for the cladding as well. Depends a lot on how it goes with those bricks though. Re: New build - color combination to go with Colorbond Walla 3Apr 24, 2015 12:48 pm Thanks for the helpful tips. The first picture is most like the style of house and gives me a good idea of how it could look. Bluestone has a slight blue tinge whereas wallaby is slightly brown and goes best with both bricks. I am leaning towards Wallaby for roof/gutters and windows, lighter eaves ( I don't think it has a fascia) and actually painting the cladding wallaby as well - the stepney is too light so possibly go to Malay Grey or Raku. There is a section of cladding around the top of the whole house above the bricks to the roofline which is assymetric. Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3267 2 10947 I would probably definitely consider contrasting out garage door (e.g. light ash would look great) and make downpipes and fascia same colour as your walls, not as your… 1 3569 |
