When's keys date?

lifetooshorttodrinkbadcoffee
No date given yet. Site manager said sometime in April and that's all we've been given. We're having some issues with the skylights that were installed in our home theatre not being what we were thinking they'd be and we are unhappy. I won't be handing over til something is done about it.
On a good note our roller door was going on today!

Will match in better once the rendered pillars and front door are painted.

Wow that looks fantastic! The door in mint is gorgeous
would you consider painting it that colour?

That's a shame re sky light

What the issue??

House looking sweet!

lifetooshorttodrinkbadcoffee
Really? In mint? I think it looks hideous haha.

We were under the assumption the skylights would be window type opening and closing ones. These are the ones with the grill type ceiling and silver living inside with a hideous white acrylic dome on the outside. I told the builder when we signed our contract I'm ok with skylights in the home theatre as long as we can have blinds to block out the light. Now they don't know if these skylights have blinds. I'm not happy! We can't even control the ventilation in this room either! Watching a movie with a cool breeze coming in during winter isn't good. If we have to use this space for guests it'll be very uncomfortable aswell.

Crapy stuck in the 70's

We was going to put these in

But 10k for two

Good luck I think it's going to be $
Shane the construction manager is real good to talk to about this type of stuff

Let us know how you go

lifetooshorttodrinkbadcoffee
I've spoken to Shane about it. He told me he has to get the product brochure and get back to me which was a week ago. We've even got solar block out blinds in our contract! I will be fuming if they come back and say they can't have blinds fitted. What's the use in having all this light coming into a home theatre! These are like what we want and If we knew this was what we were getting then we would have upgraded for sure, then that way it would have been included in the contract. Now if they expect us to pay its going to have to come out of our pockets, which aren't so deep at the moment with everything we have to finish!

Crazy they could be that far off the same page

any update?

Looks like we're stuck with the ugly skylights unless we pay $6k to change them. So disappointed. We are going to look at doing them ourselves after handover.
They have found blinds for them. I don't know what's more hideous. The blinds or the skylights! At least we can get the light out if we want to use the room during the day.

On a better note, were almost done! Cleaners are coming through soon apparently. Power is on so we have been able to see what the lights look like on. So happy with them.
These pics are from early last week so some touch ups have happened since then.

(love the gloss doors!)

Stove and range good will be delivered on the day of handover and my electrician will go in and connect it. Were doing a mirrored splashback which we will also do after handover and we will install the range good after that's done.

Wow looks great! Love your facade, ensuite and massive kitchen island. I wouldn't worry about the skylights. It's a gorgeous facade -- they are fine. Maybe do some research yourself for blinds. You may be able to make something yourself - or visit a blind specialist

Your place is looking so good. May I ask who you have doing your mirrored splashback? I've been finding it difficult to get a quote for this
A mate of ours own a glass business and is going to do it at cost price. Pays to know people hey! I got a quote from someone of $2000+!!!

Oh you're so lucky!! I wish I had useful contacts like that haha
Wow, your house is beautiful! Love your tile choices and your kitchen!

Wow looking amazing!!
