Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 09, 2015 12:13 pm For those building with the project home builders is it now 'standard' to include floor coverings beyond the bathroom/laundry or have you just added these as additional packages for your builder to do? When I built with APG it was a post handover thing but I've seen it mentioned so many times in many threads that people are choosing their floor covering from the builders range? Are more builders now doing turn key packages? I've signed up with Celebration Homes, always planned to do it as before so just curious what the current trend is? Cheers Re: For those building/have built in WA... 2Apr 09, 2015 12:16 pm My flooring for the entire house came included if thats what you mean? Laminate was included throughout the entire living area. Had the option to upgrade to tiles but i preferred laminate. Also took out the carpet in the bedrooms/theatre and put laminate in there too, but a lighter wood as opposed to the jarrah imitation in my main living areas Re: For those building/have built in WA... 3Apr 09, 2015 2:42 pm More Turn key packages ? Yeah Probably With rates this low there are a lot of new builds , lots of apartments in Perth as well. First timers are likely to want a turn key package, there is enough to stress over without having to organise and pay extras after the build when finance is required for everything. Seems you already know the process, Relax and let builder do it and they add a nice juicy margin for themselves, OR do it yourself and shop for best deal and save $ I think you have answered own question.
