Re: Plantation Homes (Queensland) 102Nov 05, 2015 1:28 pm agf18 My 2cents I had flooring done after handover, i believe we got a better product for same price as what plantation would have charged for basic tiles/carpet. But i don't know for sure as i didnt go back and get another quote from Plantation. Carpet call were available to lay them straight after handover so were only delayed another 2 days. We had extra cost of $260 to do some levelling of the concrete. I would get plantation to quote and go to carpet call direct and get a quote as well. We changed the wardrobe doors to sliding doors in one of the bedrooms due to layout of the room. They are just the standard vinyl ones. Our site costs were pretty standard except for a concrete retaining wall which was about 12k extra. Thanks for that info, i think it may pay for us to shop around to see what prices were out there to compare with PH. The thought of levelling the slab just put me off cause i thought it would be pricey. But i will check out carpet call and see what they can do. Thanks Re: Plantation Homes (Queensland) 103Nov 05, 2015 1:38 pm tj9630 We have the same floors as agf.. Blackbutt... We upgraded the underlay with this tyre composite.... Is it engineered timber, laminate etc? No issues with scratches, dents or kids? Thanks for the pics and info on those doors. They look really nice in the timber finish. I think it would be worth the extra $$ to go for those ones, will definitely look in to it. Re: Plantation Homes (Queensland) 104Nov 05, 2015 1:59 pm NVLR tj9630 We have the same floors as agf.. Re: Plantation Homes (Queensland) 105Nov 17, 2015 8:53 am Hey guys, just had a question regarding steel framing. Has anyone used steel in their builds with Henley/PH? I havent seen any while reading through threads. Just curious as to what prices are like? I tried asking my sales consultant but he said he doesnt know. Hi NVLR, We are also building in the Peninsula. We are part of Stage 1, what stage are you? We got quoted approx 12k for steel frames through GJ Gardner. Re: Plantation Homes (Queensland) 108Jan 22, 2016 3:54 pm Hey mate, We're building with GJ Gardner. We are lot 27, directly opposite you hehe! Hi there- Just hoping you can give some more clarification regarding your flooring choices...Were your's standard inclusions range or upgrades? How much did the unreal upgrade cost? If anyone else can provide guidance please do We are looking at building with Plantation Homes and was wondering if anyone could give us some guidance on flooring costs. We got the free flooring promotion but it is just their standard range of wooden look floorboards. From what we have experienced in display homes the 'included' ones seem to be more creaky over time whereas the upgraded boards (referred to as crafted) sound better to walk on. Wondering if anyone has had similar experiences and if anyone is aware of the price difference between the boards with plantation homes? Thanks in advance Re: Plantation Homes (Queensland) 110Apr 17, 2016 5:38 pm Hi there, I have been reading your posts and congrats for your new home! It definitely looks awesome! I am in the process of getting my house built by Plantation as well. Just wondering, if we are able to provide downlights for them to install? Its quite pricey if go with plantation - $160 per downlight. Hope someone can shed some light on this matter. Thanks Re: Plantation Homes (Queensland) 111Apr 17, 2016 9:40 pm amrit Hi there, I have been reading your posts and congrats for your new home! It definitely looks awesome! I am in the process of getting my house built by Plantation as well. Just wondering, if we are able to provide downlights for them to install? Its quite pricey if go with plantation - $160 per downlight. Hope someone can shed some light on this matter. Thanks Hi, It doesn't cost $160 to install the downlight itself. It costs $75 to create a light point and $23 to have a downlight installed. The downlights itself cost more than $40 if you get from Plantation. I've decided to purchase and supply them the downlights (I'll get much better ones for nearly half the price) and get Plantation to do the install. Cheers. Re: Plantation Homes (Queensland) 112Apr 20, 2016 7:41 pm Thanks for the reply! Appreciate your insight in the matter. ust a quick question, were you able to negotiate the price with plantation homes? Or get them to include something extra to sweeten the deal? I am currently over my budget and wondering if they will agree to negotiate the price :/ Re: Plantation Homes (Queensland) 113Apr 20, 2016 7:43 pm Nope, they didn't budge an inch. Did you book yours during the price crash promotion? Re: Plantation Homes (Queensland) 114Apr 20, 2016 7:45 pm Yup, I am currently looking at Empire Vogue which has a $26,000 price crash. However, I was thinking if they would knock down a few grands to suit my budget. Otherwise, include something extra... Gotta work around the budget again now :/ Re: Plantation Homes (Queensland) 115Apr 20, 2016 7:50 pm You will save a lot of money by supplying your own downlights. If you think you can arrange an electrician, you could even get them installed on your own and save even more. The only reason I'm getting plantation to do the install is because I don't want the hassle of doing it after the handover. What upgrades have you chosen? Another place where you can save a little bit of money is by getting rid of the Teknika appliances and getting them to supply other models instead. I gave them a few Westinghouse models and turns out that they are cheaper (in total) by $500 Re: Plantation Homes (Queensland) 116Apr 20, 2016 7:54 pm Yes, I will be providing my own downlights. However, I will get the light fittings done by them. It will be much easier. What kind of downlights did you get and how much? I wasn't aware that I could get rid of Teknika appliances. Will definitely look into it! Thanks! Would you be aware how much does it cost for the waterfall edge? Although I am above budget, just curious to know. Re: Plantation Homes (Queensland) 117Apr 20, 2016 8:01 pm I think I was quoted around $800 for one side(ouch!). I haven't purchased the down lights yet, but I'm looking at buying "Atom" 12W cool whites. Are you getting anything "out of the ordinary" from Plantation like security screens and Air Conditioner? You can save $125 by getting rid of the cold water tap to the fridge. And then another hundred or so by getting rid of the shelves in the WIR as we will be having custom wardrobe. Re: Plantation Homes (Queensland) 118Apr 20, 2016 9:03 pm Yup I already got rid of the shelves in WIR for master. Do you recommend upgrading the aluminium flyscreen for alfresco to timber? I'm getting my ducted air conditioning sorted from elsewhere. Got a quote 3k cheaper and 7 more zones with touchscreen pad than plantation! Re: Plantation Homes (Queensland) 119Apr 20, 2016 9:06 pm I chose the "timber colour". I'll be getting a security screen in the future, so it wouldn't have mattered anyway.
