Looks great in the photo! Our Bayside KDR Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78298 Re: Mainvue Emporio ER430 - Knockdown and Rebuild 302Nov 23, 2015 11:40 am Hi Drew, yeah it's the joins in the cement sheets that draw your attention when you are close up. Rendering around and above the sliding doors in a different color should improve the look. Did inquire about having bricks above but was not an option, unfortunately. ------------------------------------------- Build Thread - Mainvue Emporio ER430 KDR https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76790&p=1332227&hilit=mainvue#p1332227 Re: Mainvue Emporio ER430 - Knockdown and Rebuild 303Nov 23, 2015 2:44 pm We can't get the bricks over the corner stackers too, it's too heavy for the door way. The joints can be covers up with a piece of joining wood (not sure of the name)you'll Need to ask them about it. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75739&p=1299716#p1299716 Re: Mainvue Emporio ER430 - Knockdown and Rebuild 304Nov 23, 2015 3:30 pm This is one of the bug bears with volume builders... A custom builder would get his brickie to cut the bricks into paver thickness, and "tile" that area... We had this done in a reno at an old house over timber bifolds... They put in a steel lintel didn't they? That holds up the house! A&L has been in to install a couple of infills above the kitchen and butlers windows. Prior to the NHP, render was reapplied which covered the blemishes and bricks above and below the corbelling where cleaned as they appeared cloudy. Facade is now ready to go and the garage door was installed a couple of weeks ago. Does your slab need to be leveled anywhere? Re: Mainvue Emporio ER430 - Knockdown and Rebuild 309Nov 23, 2015 10:02 pm We will be. Pretty sure all slabs need to be leveled if they are going to do the job properly. Allow $400-$800 depending the work involved and the amount of fill required. ------------------------------------------- Build Thread - Mainvue Emporio ER430 KDR https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76790&p=1332227&hilit=mainvue#p1332227 Re: Mainvue Emporio ER430 - Knockdown and Rebuild 310Nov 23, 2015 10:03 pm Narrewarren01 What's the brick colour? It's almost 2 weeks since the NHP and not sure when the outstanding items are expected to be completed (haven't spoken to anyone since the NHP). Generally, the remaining items are rectified within 2 weeks of the NHP but I'd say we are at least another week away. ------------------------------------------- Build Thread - Mainvue Emporio ER430 KDR https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76790&p=1332227&hilit=mainvue#p1332227 Re: Mainvue Emporio ER430 - Knockdown and Rebuild 313Nov 29, 2015 10:11 pm Oh that must be tough. Bet you are eager to start organising the post handover jobs. viewtopic.php?t=78112 Re: Mainvue Emporio ER430 - Knockdown and Rebuild 314Nov 30, 2015 9:01 am Such a nice facade. Hopefully they sort the remaining issues this week. Much plans for your landscaping? Re: Mainvue Emporio ER430 - Knockdown and Rebuild 315Nov 30, 2015 9:30 pm Yeah we have thought about the landscaping. Given the blocks slopes about 80cm from right to left the priority is to build a retaining wall on the LHS so we can build it up and create a relatively flat block. Will hire a dingo operator to drill the holes. After the retaining wall is in will need to bring in top soil to level the back yard. Then we can start planting. The plan is to have a group of Silver Birches along the rear fence and ornamental pear trees along the north side to provide some protection during summer and let the light in during winter. For the front yard, thinking of a low maintenance native garden, probably no lawn. ------------------------------------------- Build Thread - Mainvue Emporio ER430 KDR https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76790&p=1332227&hilit=mainvue#p1332227 Re: Mainvue Emporio ER430 - Knockdown and Rebuild 316Nov 30, 2015 10:20 pm Looking good, got any pics of the inside? Or do you just do it yourself? The plan is to do it myself. The design is pretty simple. The hardest part for me will be installing the retaining wall which I haven't done before. Hopefully by taking my time, the end result will be acceptable...fingers crossed. ------------------------------------------- Build Thread - Mainvue Emporio ER430 KDR https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76790&p=1332227&hilit=mainvue#p1332227 if the original house is in good condition most of what you listed could be added in stages without the need for KDR and costs and disruption of having to live elsewhere… 1 13668 Hi We have finally decided to complete a KDR on our corner plot in NE Melbourne suburbs.
