Still waiting for builder to send us our plans to sign off on for council, they told me a week ago they were waiting on something & would then send it through. Did it take long for them to submit your plans into council? Glad your starting to settle in, must be a great feeling! Re: Building new Oracle home in Queensland 270Sep 22, 2015 6:45 pm Hi, no still not in council. So frustrating when other blocks are in council already, they said last week by Tuesday (today) but still nothing. Was there much that wasn't right? Did you find the alfresco too narrow? I am worried about that first pole & finding a suitable dining setting that won't be too squishy. Re: Building new Oracle home in Queensland 271Sep 22, 2015 7:53 pm What a pain in the arse for you. They only do landscape and garden edging to the contours of the ground. Already down 15 wheelbarrows of dirt in the back yard to try and level it out. Alfresco is ok we only have a glass table and 6 chairs at one end, leaving near the door open. Didn't like having the deep freezer out in it. Have my bbq under the eave and a solar light attached to the gutter. About to do a concrete slab for it. Moved the slab for the clothes line and put a small garden shed on it. My wife said that it is a massive home to clean. Re: Building new Oracle home in Queensland 272Sep 22, 2015 8:04 pm Yep, total pain in the arse. So over it now. That's annoying, would have thought they would have leveled it out. I will be prepared for that one. Yea that's where they put the 6 seater dining setting in the display home at the end. Looked at a lounge setting today but hubby doesn't want it lol. How on earth did you move the clothesline slab? Lol that would have been heavy. Looking at the display home I believe your wife! Not looking forward to cleaning & our tiles will be gloss Re: Building new Oracle home in Queensland 273Sep 22, 2015 8:56 pm No got them to put the slab in the back corner when they poured it. Spoke with the ss before hand. Also did you get the brochure with all the standard inclusions? Ours was missing towel rings. Still not done Re: Building new Oracle home in Queensland 275Sep 23, 2015 6:04 am I thought I read you got them to pour it in a different spot. Haha I though moving it would be impossible. Yes got the brochure. Yea they had hand towel rings from memory. I wonder why they haven't sorted that out. So you didn't a get an inside light to your laundry? Re: Building new Oracle home in Queensland 277Oct 03, 2015 7:56 am That's a bit annoying, walking into a dark room to turn the light on! We are still not even in council yet. I get the feeling they are ignoring me, not happy. I have emailed them over 1 week ago & called them Thursday, said they would email me...never got an email. I think you are getting different numbers because they all just based them on "other jobs" even though each job is unique. Often, with builders, unless you're speaking to… 3 3270 1 10514 Building Standards; Getting It Right!
