Im in the last one too but im sure someone told us that they do it just like up at Bingara Estate in Wilton Re: Building in Calderwood Valley 42Sep 17, 2015 8:12 am We bought in release 1 and wanted to move the driveway and were told we couldn't because they provide which is why I remember it so vividly. I'll go back and check my email - I hope I have it in writing Re: Building in Calderwood Valley 44Sep 17, 2015 10:05 am I was never told they were doing it, but I never asked about the driveway. MJH are telling me though that the kerb crossing is only allowed to be 3 metres wide, I am hoping they have that wrong as I want my driveway the same width all the way to the kerb and nothing in the developer guidelines says what MJH are telling me. On another note I went to have a look last week and the fill they have been importing and spreading around looks to be coal wash!! If it is indeed coal wash and they are planning on using it under where our houses will go, then I am extremely disappointed. They talked up big time about the developer guidelines in regards to landscaping and how they are trying to protect the natural beauty of the area blah blah blah. Good luck getting anything to grow well in coal wash though without spending a fortune excavating and boring through the coal wash and then bringing in quality fill.... I saw they were bringing a lot of something in but wasn't sure what it was - pretty new to this but coal wash isn't sounding nice! Re: Building in Calderwood Valley 46Sep 25, 2015 7:15 pm Another round of 66 lots coming up. Registrations emails were sent last night at 7:00pm. Apparently there were 500 people registered. Re: Building in Calderwood Valley 47Dec 06, 2015 2:57 pm I just secured a House and Land package. They say land registration will be in January 2017. Really happy with the block at 606.5 m2. Only went to look at what houses the builder had so that I could then go and look for a block to put it on and found this. Lucky was in the right place at the right time. What builder are you going with? The other week I was told Stage 1A is looking at April/May 2016 completion. Who knows though, there is still a lot of work for them to do. They seem to be only about 2 weeks into doing the access road off the highway and there is a lot of earth works to go building the land up there for it. This last weekend I noticed they now seem to have fresh water pipe stacked up, so that must be about to go in. I'll be glad to see the roads finally go in so i can work out where my block sits! Congrats on the purchase! It might seem like ages away, but you'd be amazed at how quick it goes. I'm 12.5 months in now and it's certainly exciting to see Stage 1A nearing completion! Although the daunting part is this week I am kicking off the loan application with my mortgage broker... Re: Building in Calderwood Valley 54Apr 13, 2016 10:52 pm Stuart05 - congrats and good luck. One hurdle at a time hey. I've been following a thread in building with Masterton and it's such a rollercoaster ride... More emotion then a soap opera. My contract and selections was all done by August last year, so it's been a long wait for me. Seeing all the streetlights and what not up in the estate now is rather exciting! I'm trying to work out if foot paths and the access road to the Illawarra Hwy needs to be done prior to LL submitting for registration, have you heard anything around this? Yup the process has been very smooth with the mortgage broker, I'm in for pre-approval with CBA at the moment. They can't do an unconditional approval until they can order a valuation (which requires the valuer to actually stand on the land). Lend Lease have told the broker that they are organising times that they will provide this access before registration and will apparently be sending us out letters shortly. I was talking to the covenant officer last week about my plans, so I asked him if they were planning on initially using the temporary construction access for accessing Stage 1A and he said yes it will be registered before the roundabout is done. The roundabout itself is due for completion in August apparently. Cathy CathyP we meet again, I was last on the forum back in 2011 when we both built in shell cove and we chatted frequently. Not sure if u remember. We have just bought in Calderwood too. Not sure exactly who we are building with yet, we had such a great experience with Clarendon last time so we went straight back there. Ran into our old site supervisor. Brett is his name. He told us if we build in Calderwood we would get him again. So that's a massive draw card for us knowing we would have a trouble free build because he is so awesome. We are still wanting to price around though and just see what other companies have on offer too. I like a mdj home design but not sure if it will stretch the budget too far. Found this forum so handy on my first build so that's why I've logged back on. If so is your block flat or a split? I have the mdj price list that I'm looking through but we will need a split so was wondering how much extra it roughly was? Still narrowing down which builder and which design. So many to choose from!
