Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Henley Carmelle Lux Q2 - Tender! 241Aug 26, 2015 8:02 pm Yeah its quite frustrating. If there's logic to the rejection, I'll take it - but it just sounds more like "oh we can't be bothered doing that". I might request that.. just unsure how quick the flooring will be laid. That, or I build my own plinth and have them sit it on once it's done. Just hope they don't refuse and suggest it has to be done before handover. Re: Henley Carmelle Lux Q2 - Tender! 242Aug 26, 2015 9:47 pm Is the cooker a gas one? Just bear in mind that if so, you can't move it for any reason even to clean underneath it, without it then being reinstalled by a qualified gasfitter. I would think maybe you could build your own plinth once it is done. If they wait to put the cooker in after you do the flooring will the cooker height then be too high due to the flooring? Are the legs on the cooker right at the front or are they set back slightly? If they are set back slightly could you run a kicker in front of them before the floor goes down? If they do a reduced kicker like you prefer, will that be across the entire width of floor cabinets? Our rental has a cooker which sits on top of the tiles but there is a gap at each side between the bench and the big gap underneath, there is going to be so much under there when it gets cleaned out so the idea of blocking that off is a good one. sassid ...building the Emporio with MainVue/Henley BLOG: http://thewaldorfproject.blogspot.com.au/ HOMEONE THREAD : https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75753 Re: Henley Carmelle Lux Q2 - Tender! 244Aug 27, 2015 8:52 am Ilaeria Is the cooker a gas one? I'm def not gonna wait around for qualified gasfitters and trades to help temporarily move an oven around. I'll make sure it's done right, and done right once. sassid I feel your frustration. Yeah I'm thinking of just building my own, corking it and matching it up with the rest of the kickboards. Just worried the whites wont match, or it'll look like crap with the joins. It shouldn't be too bad, the flooring will only lift it by about 16 - 20mm, but the legs are adjustable on the oven (if the legs are on it). I was looking last night, there is a kickpanel you can get for the oven, but it still ends up a pain as dirt and crap will build up under there too. But it may be an easier option if they do install the appliances when I need them to. Yep - the kicker would have ran the full length of the floor cabinets, just would have cut down slightly where the oven started. Re: Henley Carmelle Lux Q2 - Tender! 245Sep 01, 2015 8:16 pm Had a win today! I pushed the issue with the oven back on them, and have been pushing it for the last week. First they said it "wasn't offered". Then come back stating that the plinth would only be 35mm high, and by the time we added floorboards and quads, the flooring would be higher than the plinth itself. After telling them we're not having quads, sending back the measurements they originally gave us and questioning things further, our admin came back saying good news, after pushing it with management and the draftsmen, they've agreed to do it. According to measurements in our contract drawings and the oven specs, the plinth should be 95mm too, not 35mm. Will get confirmation in the next few days for how big they're actually making it though. Pretty happy with the outcome, and pretty happy with our admin too. Contract is on Friday, appointment with our finance guy is on Saturday. Things are moving. Oh, and if you're not already part of the Henley/Mainvue/Plantation facebook group that mirz set up, you should get on board. If they ever tell you things aren't offered, just question it until they can prove a legitimate reason why. Re: Henley Carmelle Lux Q2 - Contracts signed! 249Sep 17, 2015 8:37 pm Contracts are finally signed. Already have developers approval. Now for finance and valuation. Hopefully all goes well. If finance and valuation all go to plan, they expect to start on the 20th Oct. Also finally heard back from the council (emailed them June 4th!) in regards to extending the cross-over. They've mentioned we have to organise a permit. With the quick response rate they had, I think i'll be trying to organise that soon.... though does anyone know how close you can extend a cross-over to a fire hydrant? Are there rules in regards to that? Re: Henley Carmelle Lux Q2 - Tender! 250Sep 17, 2015 8:40 pm Congrats snyde. Did you get your final drawings? It's already gone so quick... yet feels so far away! Waiting on variation drawings now which is of just the kitchen elevations showing the kick board under the oven, and corrections of 3 switches. They should be here in a week or two I think. Here's a snip of our finals though in terms of house plan and facade. Not much structural changes.. just widened the entry to accommodate the door, and shrunk the butlers pantry 90mm so we could have the ensuite shower niche on the wall opposite the pantry.
