We were out there late yesterday afternoon and were surprised at just how many sites had tradies working (including yours)! Has your SS given you an approximate move in timeframe yet? Ours reckons late March but were banking on early April just in case there are delays given we still have another 2 public holiday periods between now and then haha. I'm hoping for end of march handover and I'd be guessing that I'm at least 3 weeks behind you guys... however Henley aren't doing our floors, driveway and splashback.. Re: Henley Carmelle Lux Q2 - Roofed 447Jan 28, 2016 8:01 am Na driveway and flooring we're doing ourselves.. though they are doing our splashback. Are you getting a mirror splashback or something put in? Are you getting a mirror splashback or something put in? What kind of driveway are you guys doing with? We got our driveway included in a promotion but paid to upgrade to exposed aggregate as we didn't like the colour options. Also, are you guys going to be able to do flooring under your appliances before they're installed? We're getting an upright cooker in our kitchen and asked our SS if we could tile under it before it gets installed. He's going to let us tile under where it's going a few days before handover but won't let us tile anywhere else. Matt & Steve ---------- Eight Homes S.Seven at Mandalay Re: Henley Carmelle Lux Q2 - Roofed 449Jan 28, 2016 8:59 am Going with a cream exposed agg for our driveway. Hopefully will get it done a little cheaper through the help of friends. I purposely made sure all our appliances are somewhat built in - even the free-standing oven is going to have the legs left off, and put on a plinth instead so the kickboard is seemless with the cabinetry and still level with the benchtops - that was we just lay the flooring up to the kickboards and caulk them. Re: Henley Carmelle Lux Q2 - Roofed 450Jan 28, 2016 10:35 am We are going with a darker expossed agg with white specs. We are doing driveway and paths down both sides of the house for the price henley intended on just doing the driveway. My SS is pretty easy going and said our flooring guys can come and install before appliances as long as I install the skirting boards myself... Seemed like a pretty good deal to me. We are getting a mirrored splashback, either glass or I can make stainless steel ones at work. Unsure which way I will go yet. Re: Henley Carmelle Lux Q2 - Roofed 451Jan 28, 2016 12:09 pm Sounds like you do have a good SS then. Mirror would be sweet. Have you seen the shadowed mirrors splashbacks? They look unreal. Re: Henley Carmelle Lux Q2 - Roofed 452Jan 28, 2016 2:16 pm Just jumping into the conversation, looking good on the build by the way. Henley not offering the mirrored splashback so we love it end up with color splashback. Re: Henley Carmelle Lux Q2 - Roofed 457Jan 31, 2016 12:14 pm More's happened! Plaster has started. They've brought along their own microwave too. ![]() Also a concern, our theatre window bricks haven't reached the side of the window. How do they normally rectify this? It's about an inch or a bit bigger than an inch wide. Re: Henley Carmelle Lux Q2 - Roofed 458Jan 31, 2016 1:58 pm Hi Snyde, great looking home. We are also looking at building the Carmelle Q2 but unsure how much space we would have on the side of our house by the Alfresco. We have a 14m wide block but looks like you have a 16 wide block as you have heaps of room down the side of the house? Also, do you know if Henley are flexible at flipping the orientation of the home, so the alfresco would be on the right hand side of the house? Many thanks and good luck! Re: Henley Carmelle Lux Q2 - Roofed 459Jan 31, 2016 2:30 pm Thanks Jaffa. We've got an 18m wide frontage, leaving us 3m from the side of the garage (2 and a half car garage), and approx 6 - 7m from the alfresco. I'd assume you'd still be left with approx 2m (I think?) on a 14m frontage - that's what we were originally looking at. Henley shouldn't have an issue flipping the orientation - we've actually been through some display homes where the orientation is completely flipped. They can be quite accomodating with structural changes too. Re: Henley Carmelle Lux Q2 - Roofed 460Jan 31, 2016 2:31 pm Is your corner between the sliders on the alfresco supposed to plaster? Ours is timber but they plastered it at first. They do it all the time apparantly. You plaster looks a lot neater than ours did. To be honest when ever we had gaps like the side of your theatre window they either caulked it or covered it in timber beading. Quick fixes.
