Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 12, 2016 6:14 am Do you think a ducted system is worth it for me? We are building a large single story home ... - I have dust mite allergies and one of my children has asthma - we currently have an 11 yr old Dyson with a HEPA filter which I use fortnightly for my big clean. It is still going strong but I'm sure will need replacing soon enough and a handheld rechargeable Dyson that I use daily. Do you think a ducted system performs as well as a Dyson on carpets in removing all the fine particles and dust, I think it's great that the exhaust is outside but have never had a problem with the Dyson.? I am worried of the whole 'getting something stuck on the tube thing" is this really a problem? Do you think the hose will be a PITA to vacuum around and it will mark my walls? ... However I have marks now from my Dyson running into walls lol It's not something I ever considered but certain people are saying I'm mad for not installing one as it will be too late and more expensive once the house is built Thanks Our Acreage Build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=82619 Re: Ducted Vacuum owners ... Please help [emoji13] 2Apr 12, 2016 8:59 am We have one and while it's good, we could have bought 2 Dysons for the money (one for upstairs, one for downstairs). We got it so we wouldn't have to lug vacuum cleaners up and down stairs. The hose is manageable. Can't compare the suction but it does a good job. The waste container is easy to empty, doesn't use a bag and holds a lot. It's a bit of a toss up really. If the Dyson works for you then no need to change. Re: Ducted Vacuum owners ... Having said that, we may supplement with a robot vacuum.... Re: Ducted Vacuum owners ... They are quieter and more powerful so its really good to own a ducted vacuum. Hi all, sorting out the ducted air con for a 350sqm double story house. Does this placement sound reasonable to you?
