Hey Nat, I don't think your quotes are wrong.. They must have quoted you for the crystal finish.. Or whatever is the most expensive finish.. Because I got quoted about $1800 for the crystal finish and $700 I think for silk finish.. Don't really know exact price but I know that the prices had a massive difference! I have polar white too with essastone Galileo.. Silk is still gloss but not the the very high gloss! They will always quote you the most expensive and not tell you the cheaper option because you didn't ask for it.. It's so annoying! All the best! Our quote is for the high gloss though not the silk.. big differences. I have to wonder where they pull some of the prices from Re: Kellie's HGWA Build - Some selection photos 67May 06, 2015 10:39 am Hey kel! Yes sometimes I wonder myself too! I wanted gloss and then I research the maintenance and pros and cons.. That's why I chose the silk cos it's cheaper and it's still gloss that you can see but not high gloss! Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Kellie's HGWA Build - Some selection photos 69May 06, 2015 11:34 am Nat after seeing your price just now, I went and confirmed with our prestart consultant and our costings are definitely for the Laminex Crystal Gloss in Polar White. Some of the costing variations I see on this forum absolutely blow my mind Re: Kellie's HGWA Build - Some selection photos 70May 06, 2015 11:35 am I think I am thinking of Crystal Diamond Gloss actually not crystal, maybe that is what they have quoted you for? Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Kellie's HGWA Build - Some selection photos 72May 06, 2015 1:05 pm We were originally going for diamond gloss but were advised by the builder and interior design consultant that it is easy to scratch and very expensive compared to the silk finish as it is actually manufacturered differently. They were happy to price it and install it but made it clear that it is to our own risk, i.e. Don't come back in a year complaining about scratches. So we went silk finish for cabinets. Re: Kellie's HGWA Build - Some selection photos 73May 06, 2015 8:04 pm Ok guys I've found the problem, so with laminex you have standard then the silk then diamond gloss then crystal gloss. They have quoted me for crystal gloss and I asked for diamond gloss (which is cheaper) Emailing her now to requote luckly I looked at all the different standards laminex have! Kellie are you building with hgwa? If so lucky you with that great pricing for crystal!! The white is for the laundry with white gloss cupboards and the bathroom and WC, which we are still finalising our laminate for. Black glass splash back in the kitchen. We are still trying to decide for the laundry and scullery.. but at this stage we are looking at a mirror splash back. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Feature tile for the bathroom and WC. Floor to ceiling tiling in black was our original intention (wanted to use same wall and floor tiles for that feeling of continuity) but we did not go ahead with it in the end due to apportioning the cost of extra tiling to something else Our Build Thread: The "Extended" Marina by Visionone Homes Our Inspirations: Frank Lloyd Wright | Houzz Re: Kellie's HGWA Build - Some selection photos 77May 08, 2015 10:45 am koll1 Hi Kellie just wondering how much extra your front door, your internal door and the large door handle cost??
