We have our tender appointment in 2 weeks time. Just wanted to check if anyone upgraded their flooring times. I heard that the same as display home would be close to $25k. Is is advisable to get the flooring externally? Is anyone getting their tiles done externally?? Is anyone getting their tiles done externally?? Hi Kc27 - check with Sheilzy - I believe Sheilzy has upgraded her ground floor flooring to similar to what is at the Henderson Kellyville display home. We were considering arranging for carpet post hand over - but I think it is cheaper going with M as they calculate per square meter - where as post hand over, the carpet suppliers would have calculated per lineal meter - would have meant another ~30 sqm we would have had to pay for. We are also getting tiles through M - not too sure about the standard range yet. I think it will be cheaper than getting tiles externally then, just consider the cost of tiling alone!! Btw we took up the 6k flooring offer, which only comes if you sign up to their other promo (which is worth the money!). Whilst you are in initial stages, I would also recommend what one of the other forum members (building Glendale) recommended to me - to upgrade the insulation to be same as designer homes - cost us $1k. Good luck with your tender! ![]() Metricon Glendale 38 - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75696&p=1298363#p1298363 Selections: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75696&start=60 Tiles - p25 Re: Building Metricon Glendale38 50Apr 04, 2015 9:44 pm Thanks Monalisa for your suggestions. Also wondering if you could upgrade the appliances to Fisher & Paykel. The designer range provides Fisher & Paykel but the metro range comes with Technical. The online reviews for Technical don't seem very positive. We asked for an upgrade and the sales consultant has advised it would cost us a further $2k which seems a lot. We had Fisher and Paykel included in our tender - but they included one of worst quality ones! Note that when you do upgrade, it is in 'lieu' of what they are providing you - we upgraded ours to Bertazzoni oven and cooktop, and it was less than the price displayed at Studio M. Book in an appointment at Studio M - and they have prices for most things on display. Check my thread out for our selections - might give you an idea ![]() PS 2k seems on the lower end! For us - bertazzoni cook top and oven + fisher and paykel rangehood for kitchen - was all up $3k (less than I anticipated - based on prices at Studio M). Hi Kc27, we added in the hot right now promo at the time and we have selected our kitchen appliances to be F&P which includes the 900mm rangehood. We have our tile appointment in May so im expecting the tile quote to come back at around $20k, we didnt add in tile allowance into our contract cos we didnt know and werent told abt it either so now whatever the tiling cost will be, we will need to come up with the cash. If you can, add in the tile allowance into ur contracr. Re: Building Metricon Glendale38 53Apr 04, 2015 11:10 pm ![]() We have our tile appointment in May . Glendale38, at what stage of the build do we have the tile appointment? We won't start preparing for tiles until our site is handed over (over the next month). Hopefully we have sufficient time! Figured no point selecting now, as I have heard that tiles go out of stock quick...and I just can't be bothered. TOO exhausted from the admin phase. You will have the tile appointment at framing stage. So as soon as you receive the letter to notify of who ur site manager will be, Di Lorenzo should contact you and book an appointment in for you. They do recommend you visiting the tile showroom prior to ur appointment to have an idea of what you want. Hmmm i would have thought the site manager would call us to update us on whats been happening but we havent heard from him since our first meeting on 13th March. I texted him a few days later to let him know we drove by the site and the fence werent closed off so thought i text him to inform him but he didnt respond. My husband called him this arvo to get an update. Our frames should be completed by Thursday and the bricks should be delivered on Friday which means brick work will start on Monday if the weather stays good for this week. Stay tuned!!!
