Thank you for sharing your experience. The house looks really lovely. Like you, we have decided to get some plans drawn up privately so we can build exactly what we want. Then we will need to find a builder. Can I ask who built your home and were you happy with them overall in terms of price and quality? We are in Caroline Springs, so not too far from you ☺️ Kitchen photos 209Feb 17, 2016 9:11 am Hi Dani, Thankyou for the compliments. We are thrilled with our home. Builder was amazing throughout the entire process. He is always on site and regularly meets you there to show you (we had access the entire time) We only ever dealt with him the entire build. From beginning to end so there was nothing lost in translation of he said she said. He uses quality products and I know for sure doesn't cut corners re materials etc because many tradies kept telling us that through the build. Price wise we were extremely happy. I'm sure had we gone a large building company we could have got it cheaper however we wanted the structure of our home to be strong. To last many years. Our plasterer informed us that the bracing alone in the ceiling was worth $5k and he hasn't seen it done like that for years. That bought comfort to us knowing that not only are the finishes beautiful but the foundations are strong. We got personal service and phone calls were returned within minutes. Our builder is from Melton. Business name is TDH Developments. Builders of luxurious homes. And that's certainly what we ended up with. We changed a few things along the way and there was no silly variance fee. Builder has since shown 3 couples through our home and they have all signed. Kudos to him His number is 0412 118 842 Name is Tim Holland Re: Kitchen photos 210Feb 17, 2016 11:33 am Thanks so much for the detailed response Simmi. Fantastic to hear you had such a great experience. Was this your first build? This will be our second. The first time was stressful enough. We didn't really know what we were doing or what questions to ask which didn't help. So it will be nice to have a builder who appreciates the importance of good customer service and attention to detail! This time we have decided not to go with a volume builder as we want something that's not really standard. In the end I reckon it won't be that much more expensive vs going with a volume builder who charge an arm and a leg for every variation/upgrade!! Thanks again for the recommendation. Will definitely follow up. Re: Kitchen photos 212Feb 20, 2016 10:23 pm tjam Hi Simmi71, Your house looks stunning. My partner and I were wondering what your wall colour is? We are settling in well however i still feel as if in living in a display home or someone else's house. Blinds arrive on Sunday!! Couldn't come soon enough.
