We are still using the portable airer to dry out clothes. Haven't worked out where a line can work.
This will be us for awhile..well we still have a back and front yard of dirt too.

There seemed to be so many variations Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Theses 2 above is what my husbands 2 Cousin's got. My builders kitchen suppliers have a cheaper option : Blum runners but the use the wood on the side not the steel. He called it wooden box runners. So many variations it's doing my head in! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75739&p=1299716#p1299716 We changed ours to what they said was still good quality but cheaper version - still super happy with them. The bin is a little slow if you want to be like, extremely super picky. Re: Custom Bearers and Joists on Sloping Block - Home Stretc 868Jun 01, 2016 12:06 pm Soo i have been MIA for a little while. Partly due to not having the internet at home (still don't) and partly due to being in Europe for almost 5 weeks pretty much right after handover. We have been in the house since early april but have only lived in it for about 2 weeks so The house is still the same as it was when we moved in. We have decided to hold off on the driveway until the house next door is built as we dont want our brand new driveway to be used as a turning circle or as a dumping ground (we are at the end of a skinny battle axe driveway) We do have a clothes line now though Anyway, some early thoughts on the house now that we have lived in it for a while. The northfacing living area of the house with lots of windows makes the house quite warm during winter, however it lets in an incredible amount of light and sun which means i have to wear sunnies inside. We are getting quoted on blinds next week. I think Gandn mentioned this in her thread, but one of my major issues at the moment is that the place just doesnt quite feel like home yet. It feels like im living in a hotel somewhere (everything seems quite clinical and perfect and not homey) Anyway with some rugs, some paintings and pictures and blinds, i hope we can make the place more warm and cosy and homey! We also have minor maintenance issues which the builder will be fixing e.g paint. Otherwise i am completely happy with the place. I would post some pictures, but as i mentioned earlier, the place looks pretty much the same as when we moved in. maybe a little neater now hehe Re: Custom Bearers and Joists on Sloping Block - Home Stretc 869Jun 01, 2016 6:35 pm Great to hear from you Abztronic! Bet your holiday was fantastic too. So jealous of your clothesline would you believe, can't decide if I want a rotary or one on a fence, or where to put it! Such a procrastinator am I. Don't stress about making your home homely, it will happen. Keep us updated and hope you get internet. I can't believe I missed this thread! Your facade in particular is stunning. Congratulations! Quick question when you get time, I noticed you have opted for shower shelves/soap holders instead on niches. We too have done the same on our custom build but I need to work out the height at what they should be set at... what are yours at and are you happy with them? TIA Re: Custom Bearers and Joists on Sloping Block - Home Stretc 871Jun 06, 2016 12:24 pm Know exactly how you feel. Its not home yet but its getting there. Glad you like it We worked out the heights of our shower shelves by standing in it and pretending to have a shower haha. So the height you choose depends how tall you and hubby are. Our shelf height is about the 140cm mark but Our showers are quite wide though so there is minimal chance of whacking into the shelf whilst having a shower. Hope that helps!
