Regardless for what you use it for now it's invaluable for future resale I reakon in last house we were advised to do it but being a childless couple at the time we thought it was a waste of space, now after having kids and looking at existing houses to buy we have found they are a great addition to a house and we'll worth the investment for a bit of extra living space mrs bee will be jealous though she always wanted a library lol Re: Plantation Bronte, Ormeau Ridge QLD 45Apr 01, 2015 9:33 am Yeah the second living definitely helps with resale also. I'm excited to have a library but I already know it's still not big enough, haha We have so many books! Whereabouts are you building? We're on the Gold Coast and it's supposed to rain for all of next week too Very frustrating to have such a slow start! livpal5 Bummer. Go away rain!! But ur still way ahead of me. My plans are still not in council. Oh what a pain We got through our pre-site with relative ease and I thought that starting in March would be good because the weather usually clears up and stays calm and clear but nooooo. Damn rain gods! What did I do to anger you??? I thought you would of been in council for sure since you got your island bench ect sorted out. Re: Plantation Bronte, Ormeau Ridge QLD 57Apr 02, 2015 12:07 pm Tribe7 Oh what a pain in the butt, so if they aren't going to site next week have they given you a new slab date? I read the forecast too and it rain, rain and more stinken rain. Not yet Tribe7. I guess because of the forecast they're taking a wait-and-see approach. I hope they appreciate how patient I'm being - I'm sure they have plenty of clients jumping up and down about delays despite the fact they have no control over the weather! They emailed me yesterday the work plan for the next 2 weeks but forgot to attach the document and I jokingly asked if that meant they had nothing planned due to the weather, haha. I'm blaming myself because at the start of the build I was telling everyone that the worst thing that can happen is they do all the drains and conduit and then we get rain rain rain because that means the slab prep has to be redone around the drains - so of course that's exactly what happened! I guess thats the upside to where I am, it's a regional location so much much drier and weather doesn't tend to cause problems like that. Hopefully once they do start they will catch up somewhere else so you'll see lots of progress in a short space of time Re: Plantation Bronte, Ormeau Ridge QLD 59Apr 02, 2015 3:25 pm Got confirmation that the slab pour has now been rescheduled for the 14th of April. Which means, if it happens this time, we'll be nearly 5 weeks from commencement to slab So frustrating! It's not normally this wet at this time of year. Oh 5 weeks is a long time your doing well being so patient Hi all. Anyone know when the $11,000 limit was set in legislation for renovations in QLD?
