Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 15, 2015 11:45 pm Hi The Engineer has made his Footing Inspection. Sent an Invoice to the builder, who passed it on to me to pay. Does this come under the builder's contract or is it a separate and distinct building cost? And as there will be a frame inspection etc will these also be my additional costs? Thanks Re: Footing Inspection - my additional cost? 2Mar 16, 2015 6:10 am Did you ask for extra inspections? What does your contract say about these inspections? I know pretty-much nothing about the inspections our builder did, they were all part of the overall base cost. Re: Footing Inspection - my additional cost? 3Mar 16, 2015 6:49 am In Victoria, mandatory inspections are covered by building permit fees, private inspections are at your own cost. I would imagine it would be pretty much the same in other states.
