Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 121Sep 25, 2015 12:56 am Not good on the tiles Dongster but yay to a bit of progress. Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 122Sep 27, 2015 10:59 am Dongster Tiler and cupboards started this week. Cupboards in the kitchen can't be finished as a GPO is in the wrong spot so waiting on that to be fixed first. Once cupboards are in it's about 3 weeks wait for stone benchtops. I know I am not in the cabinet game but one would think you could measure up before hand and just have them ready to install and not need a template. Anyway it is the way it is so hopefully they can get some other stuff done whilst we are waiting. A few photos to show the start of the process. We have gone black full height it's so risky but this looks so amazing! Made my day! Kryssti Ben trager build 2015/2016 Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 123Sep 27, 2015 11:48 pm Glad to hear. It looks better in person, photos aren't the best. We have whitish stone bench tops to provide some contrast. BTH in Doubleview - nearing PCI 124Nov 14, 2015 3:24 pm No pics as we can never get inside the house nowadays as never any trades on site. That said PCI is booked for 25th and have assurance they will be ready. We still have a lot to do including external render, painting, stairs, ballustrades, all plumbing, downpipes, electrical, A/C, smart wiring... Plus a lot of fixes including ceilings, cornices, ovens, wardrobes, lights... That makes me very nervous after your run Archetto but I have been told it will all be done. Hopefully I can get some photos soon, if I wait 2 weeks it will be nearing complete so even better. Our wood flooring is booked in for 4 weeks time so it has to be ready then as this date is set in stone and once they start no other trades can get in I guess. Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 125Nov 14, 2015 8:41 pm Wow. Your stairs aren't even in yet?? I wonder why! Hopefully they can pull it all together for you too, going to be a busy few weeks for BTH! Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 126Nov 14, 2015 10:30 pm I drove by BTH display home in Wangara today. It was just slab about 2 months ago but it's already on upper floor with stairs now. I wonder why too?! The name's Bond, Color Bond My Ben Trager build thread: "Coming Soon.." Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 127Nov 15, 2015 9:20 am Dongster, you're in the same boat as me. They've told me PCI 27 Nov and still far too much to be done including a list of fixes so I am highly dubious they will be ready in time. Hubby has been trying to contact Ben since the end of last month but he seems to be ignoring both request from us and our CLO. Let's hope they can pull it off for all of us. Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 128Nov 15, 2015 9:52 am All I can say is if it doesn't look ready the day before, cancel. It's not worth wasting your time, push it back another week as hard as it will be. I refused to cancel PCI (not that we were asked or were aware nothing more had been done) but now I wish I had of! Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 129Nov 15, 2015 11:01 am I agree but pyshing back is not an option as we have our trades booked and with Xmas close there is no leeway. So BTH will have to deliver. I have 2 weeks off work to do stuff on the house and you cant just cancel leave. Any other time of the year this pushback would be an option but not now. As we signed up 1st April 2014 I feel there has been enough time and i didnt leave everthing til the last minute. It has to be ready. Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 130Nov 15, 2015 11:07 am We are the same Dongster. We signed up 1 May 2014. We're told 36 weeks hahaha we didn't change anything on their plan. It's one of their designs, not off plan, thinking that would make it even easier. I can't see my trades getting in and finished in time for us to move in for Christmas. As I will be on my own because hubby has been called away early to work, I'm not taking PCI unless there is a significant amount of work done in the next 2'weeks. There's simply no point in walking round a house with too many things half done. I refuse to accept the keys with the promise of they will come and fix it once we are in. They will just have to get their arse in gear and just get it done. 52 weeks since slab tomorrow. It just beyond a joke. Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 131Nov 15, 2015 2:24 pm We didn't have the option to push it back either which is why I was going to refuse to cancel if they asked but now I see how much of a waste of time it was, the only benefit being they have now realized they need to get their a*ses into gear so we can all move on. Luckily the day we get keys will be the day most of our deliveries and trades were due anyway so now I either need to push it back 1 day or have them come in the afternoon and all should still stay on track if they allow our painter in early. If it wasn't going to work like that tho we would not be moving in before Christmas. Hope they have learnt from our "PCI" and they have everything ready for you guys Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 132Nov 15, 2015 5:37 pm I hope mine and Dandydons PCI goes well arch as you say. Fingers crossed. Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 133Nov 18, 2015 12:10 am So 6 working days to go until PCI. This week we have had Corbeling done around the balcony joints pre-render. We have had 1 wall rendered downstairs so still a bit of work to go there. Now it's raining but they have had the last 4 months to do this. The Painter said he isn't coming back until next Wed now so that is not looking good either. He has painted the cornices and ceiling except that is the same one that I have mentioned about 6 times that needs replacing. He also painted all our shelves in our robes (issue is the shelves should not be there and we are waiting for them to be removed) so he has been painting a lot of unnecessary items. He also painted the stairs white, except they should be black. He has painted the internal doors I think. We had one basin installed by the plumbers. Ummm.... Maybe we will have 10 trades working Sat and Sun as I have been assured this is on track and will fly once the finishing trades come through. Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 134Nov 18, 2015 12:32 am Hmm fingers crossed!!! What is your list of things to be done? Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 135Nov 18, 2015 9:52 am External render downstairs A/C Garage Door Smart wiring All plumbing, taps, toilets, 2 gas hot water systems Steps in garage Painting (50%) Electrical (20% complete) Tiling Door in WIR to attic Balustrades (balcony and stairs) Ceilings and cornices to fix splashbacks Mirrors Cabinet fixes Timber treads on stairs Block clean but this one can wait Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 136Nov 18, 2015 11:12 am Don't be surprised if your door isn't on for your attic, despite them doing this before it seems they don't know what they are doing with it, they are 'not sure how to do it' as they installed a normal door frame but cut down into ours but didn't think about the fact it only has 1 hinge on the end they cut and they aren't sure how to install the second...going to be interesting to see what they end up doing at ours and if it looks botched up, hopefully you have smarter trades! Your list is pretty similar to ours, at least you have 5 working days to go though Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 137Nov 18, 2015 11:33 am OMG. Why sell a custom door when they dont know how to procure a frame to suit and install it. I'll definitely look at the hinge (s) Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 138Nov 18, 2015 1:00 pm I've got a custom door to our under stairs cupboard. They've told me they are getting a welder in move the lock up the door frame. Mind you, that was over 10 weeks ago and still nothing. Just had and update and it said they are still confident that PCI will be next Friday. I'm not so confident. Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 140Nov 18, 2015 2:32 pm I have everything crossed for you 2 Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17517 of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 23758 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 23835 |
