Our brand new Tassie oak stair treads laid on Friday are now all chipped and damaged on the front of them. Looks like some nice tradie has just scuffed his way down with his work boots on or something similar. Not sure why they did not have a protective layer placed onto them to protect them or a no shoes policy. I just don't get the trades employed to build our house, surely they have references right ![]() Today we find this in one of our bedrooms. Yes it will be fixed but then it will be just another patch up job, words just escape me. Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 193Dec 07, 2015 10:47 pm Assume electrical work for the LED's. And some fitness cardio work on the stairs perhaps? Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 194Dec 07, 2015 10:55 pm Hope you have no problems getting it all fixed. Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 195Dec 07, 2015 11:07 pm Oh man......unbelievable. Some tradies need a 2x4 on the side of the head. Our build thread [url]https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=71492/url] Prestart: 18/7/14 Final plans: 13/8/14 Building permit: 30/9/14 Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 196Dec 08, 2015 9:51 am Waiting on Ben to get back to us on the state of our stairs, ceiling, render, electrics, and overall build in general. Let's just say we are not happy at the moment. Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 197Dec 08, 2015 10:30 pm Met with Ben onsite today after airing some concerns over quality on our build, good he could meet us onsite as we have not been happy. Still lots to be done and fixes to occur but he assures us this will be done. New is new, patched up in my books is acceptable in small quantities but not when it seems to occur at nearly every stage. Many trades onsite and they were treading on our stairs so gently whilst I was standing there. We are wanting these fixes rectified ASAP and are waiting to hear back about when this will be finished. The ceiling damage and stairs are to be fixed which is good but such a shame that more care has not been taken initially. A nice tradie also decided to use our shower as his toilet. ![]() Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 198Dec 08, 2015 10:51 pm OMG - that's terrible. We're having a rotten time with our builder too. As for the tradie using the shower, that is disgusting ![]() Re: Our BTH Build in Doubleview 200Dec 08, 2015 11:31 pm He said that things would be fixed and the build will be of good quality. I second taking your plans elsewhere. They're yours (unless you ended up in one of those cheaper arrangements where you don't own the rights and the build will be tendered… 2 33134 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense.
