Our BTH Build in Doubleview

So we have had external render applied to most of the lower level and it looks good. However they would not touch the balcony and front piers and they said BTH would have to find someone else to do it. That does not leave me with any confidence in the job to come and the reason they didn't want to render it was because it was such a mess. We will have to wait and see what happens here.
Our half door in the WIR was installed and it's a full wooden frame with 2 hinges, woohoo.
Not so much with the manhole placement as it is inaccessible due to the A/C duct running straight through the middle. I assume this will have to be patched and moved.
Still waiting on lights to be moved to align correctly in the lounge and today noticed more that were not central. More patching work to be done.
Splashbacks went in today in the laundry and kitchen.
Smart wiring also went in so ticking off some items but still lots to do.

Beautiful! Love that tile looks amazing. And can't wait to see your whole kitchen finished.

We told them to do a wooden frame in our manhole so will be interesting to see if they have done the same now or still scratching their heads over the metal frame and 1 hinge lol.

One day left until PCI. Yesterday we saw door handles put on and weather seals on 2 outside doors, we were expecting a little more action as the list is still massive. Plumbers have not set foot on the block yet and we still have a load of fixes that have not even been looked at. Not sure who is leading this charge but they may have left it a few weeks too late.

Yes they should have used Half Bond... LOL, Perhaps lucky they don't use Brickwork on the Upper Storey, where the bending-> Deflections would be greater

do you have fly screens or house clean yet? Is power on? I really thought they would of learnt from their mistakes now!

We aren't having flyscreens installed so saving 2 weeks there alone.
Electrical not finished, painting not finished, kitchen not finished, tiling not finished, plumbers nowhere to be seen, stairs not done, balustrades not done, A/C not done, cornices not finished, render not done, repairs not started.
Waiting on CLO to advise.
Our trades start in 2.5 werks time.
Signed up April fools day 2014. Its still funny.

Oh man Dongster, that pillars are shocking. Hope they come up with a fix for it. You sound worse off than me. I'm hopeful most things will be done by Friday. I have to laugh when they said they are doing it earlier than usual so as not to hold us up anymore? I mean it's only take 54 weeks and you're still not finished. How is that not holding us up? the jokes are wearing thin. Good luck for tomorrow.

Well I went to the house today expecting to have seen at least a fair bit done on our outstanding list prior to PCI tomorrow. All we had was an initial clean done. So the inside of the house is cleaner but what a disappointment.

Powder room - to be done, add one toilet and clean what should be a brand new pipe.

We were the same today Dongster. Cleaners were in but said they couldn't do much as there's still to much to be done. All they could do was wipe the sone down and cleaned the Windows which are sparkling lol. I was expecting to see a few trades there today but no. I can totally relate with you. Hope they have answers for you tomorrow.

Folks check your toilets to see there isn't too much gap and the cistern doesn't wobble.

If u got BT to install r/c aircon, run for a while and see if condensation drains away correctly or if there is leaking happening into the house from an overflowing drain tray.

Make sure your downpipes have been capped off to the eaves on both floors.

Check that tops of doors are painted....do they think that isn't part of the door?

More to the topic.....it ain't PCI if isn't practically complete!

+1....I thoroughly recommend that all flashing is checked as the upper floor stud walls are without drainage cavities..thanks for pointing that out

How are you meant to check the flashings? Ie. Explain what we are meant to look for?

They replaced all our flashings despite the leak being at the back of our house (box gutter) so until next winter we won't know if they fixed the problem or created one

I hope they got the fix right..long term corrosion may be a bigger issue if you are coastal/marine.
I suggest you get copies of warranties as well. HTH

Our SS checked tops of doors for us.
Lots and lots to do but promised for 2 WEEKS. I am hoping this is a better 2 weeks than the last.
