Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 14, 2015 8:30 am Ive been reading these forums about people who build with Porter Davis going to 'tender' appointments to finalise costs, im wondering if we build with an advantage house do we go to a tender process too? How do we lock in all our upgrades? If you build advantage do you not have access to the upgrade packs? Thanks Re: Porter Davis advantage Homes - Tender Appointment? 2Mar 14, 2015 1:06 pm Hi Luke, we're building an Access house and don't get a Tender appt either. Basically, you work out all the upgrades with your sales person. We've been told that any structural changes need to be sorted out with him before we get contacted by our building coordinator (BC) because once the BC has our file they start doing drawings etc and structural stuff can't be changed. This has been a pretty easy process, a quick phone call from us, he quotes a price, we say yes or no, half an hour later we get an email and send back our confirmation - we've been really impressed. Our quote contains pricing for all the upgrades/changes we've selected. A lot of them came about by walking through the house with the sales guy and saying "is this standard / is that standard" etc! And still more from reading the upgrades thread here. Colour/fitting upgrade costs are confirmed with World of Style. I'm still not ruling out sticker shock at our Contract appt and may need to scale back a few things - it is kinda frustrating not having the intermediary step - but I'll let you know how we go.
