Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 12, 2015 10:22 pm I am building my house in Melbourne (Pakenham to be exact). I have had so much trouble with my small builder. It is at the lock up stage, I have noticed they are putting water pipes above the frame. My question is what if the water pipes were broken in the future for any reason – say rats in ceiling or because of the heat or something else?? Will it wet my ceiling? For a visual explanation – take a look at the black pipes in this pic. https://www.flickr.com/photos/115452843 ... 598694570/ Please help me Re: Builder - plumbing to wet frame? 2Mar 12, 2015 11:01 pm All internal water piping is installed in the roof cavity these days, so entirely normal. Much easier to access and fix if there is a leak, otherwise they will have to dig a dirty big hole in your house slab to access the water pipes Dale - Building Newbie Proserpine, QLD Re: Builder - plumbing to wet frame? 3Mar 13, 2015 7:15 am Thats not a bad think. accessibility is the key here. If you need to route a new tap or perhaps change an outlet to rain water from a tank/pump you could do this more easily especially if for example your toilets already use tank water. This is 100% true. You can not hang anything on steel frames. very frustrating 8 5346 Thanks Pulse, thats really helpful and very much appreciated.
