Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 11, 2015 3:50 pm Finally we are about to start external and internal selection very soon. We are building with Firstyle. For the external selection I am thinking to use: Roof: Magnum Roof Gutter: Woodland Grey (apparently if monument will be better, but the monument colour is not on the list Fascia: Dune Eaves: Dune or Surfmist Bricks: Austral Everyday Life Freedom Downpipe: Woodland Grey Render: Dune/ June Fog (Light Grey) Window: Woodland Grey. Door: Stained (thinking wood colour) Mortar: Off White I am sooooooo confused.. and worried if these colours are not matching.... We are building 4 bedroom with 1 garage and we also have corner facade... Anyone can shed lights or anyone used similar colours ? Appreciated Cheers Thornton23 Aug-Oct 2014 Deposit Tender April 2015 Land titled Jun-Jul 2015 Final Tender &Clipsal Aug 2015 DA approved Jan 2016 Slab Feb 2016 Frame Apr 2016 Brick June 2016 Roof July 2016 Lock up Re: External Colours Selection Help 3Mar 11, 2015 8:05 pm Everyday Life is a series of Austral bricks, so it may help to be more specific about which one. Only 1 wall can be rendered.. So I try to use envisage simulator. It is not giving me visibility/full picture as the type of the house is a bit different especially the facade. I wonder why they dont have Austral bricks in the simulator.. the brick colours are different from what i have in this picture... There are heaps online e.g. colour bond have one & also Austral Bricks have one too that may give you an idea on your brick choice. Re: External Colours Selection Help 8Mar 12, 2015 3:23 pm We've chosen very similar colours: Roof: Monier Tiles in Barramundi Gutters: Monument Fascia/downpipes: Dune Bricks: Biscotti (main), Praline (feature) Mortar: Off White Render: Dune Cladding: Surfmist Window frames: Black Garage door/front door: Dune Driveway: Gunmetal Grey Not sure if I've done this right but here is a photo of our samples FYI: https://www.imageshack.us/i/eyTNlRD2j Good luck!! I found it really stressful and needed two appointments to get it right. Hopefully this colour combination will work okay as our garage is only one and will not give 'small' looks to the house . I will try Austral one very soon. What's your garage door colour? I think you're colours are fine. Just maybe lighten it up a bit. eg have lighter windows. Hi d@n, thank you for backing me up and yes the front facade will be fully rendered. I am thinking either Dune or June Fog (Light Grey colour). For the garage, it will be Woodland Grey. Uhm Do you think Iron Stone will be lighter enough to replace Woodland Grey for the Window? No ironstone and woodland grey are similar tone strength. Since your render colour is light then dark windows should be fine. But I think you need some variety with either an additional render colour or brick choice. The portico is an ideal choice to create a feature. Re: External Colours Selection Help 18Mar 15, 2015 5:06 pm For the comments so far to make sense, I'm thinking OP may be using the term "facade" to refer to just the portico, rather than the full facade (front) of the house. Good suggestion. We can do that.. The Dulux colour consultants are awesome.
