Made a change to the carpet selection for master bed and WIR too, I've switched from a light/warm grey called "Suede" to "Onyx" (black) in a Godfrey Hirst range so that it matches the media room as they can be seen at the same time from the entry if you stand in the right spot. I hope I don't regret it. The fluff will probably drive me crazy but not as crazy as mismatched carpet would have. I've kept the rest of the bedrooms as "suede" to keep them lighter. Re: Hotondo Jamieson 222 - All Locked Up! 165Aug 17, 2015 1:04 pm Nice dark carpet in the master is always nicer anyway I think I'm sure you'll love it. Builder sounded flustered when I spoke to him on Thursday, I think they are overwhelmed with houses at the moment. They had 6 houses all needing plasterboard at the same time which was the hold up for us. If all those houses needed plasterboard at the same time then pretty much every stage from there I'm competing for trades with those houses. No wonder it feels like nothing is happening. On a positive note, at least all the skirting boards, architraves and internal doors had been delivered ready for start. I do like the way the house feels when I walk through it, and it has that newly built house smell going on now, call me weird but I've been looking forward to that LOL Re: Hotondo Jamieson - Plasterboard completed, fit out begin 167Aug 22, 2015 8:43 am The lack of progress is frustrating I'm sure and competing for trades won't help. But at least you're happy with how its coming together Jen (& Dave) Plantation Bronte, Ormeau Ridge, Gold Coast QLD 12/03/2015 - Commencement... 26/08/2015 - Handover! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76446 Re: Hotondo Jamieson - Front Door! 168Aug 27, 2015 6:59 pm So happy, I knew they were working on it this week as the builder had been in contact with me and updated me, they've been there most of this week doing all the skirtings, architraves and internal doors. But what has made me happiest is seeing this: Our front door! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Hotondo Jamieson - Front Door! 169Aug 27, 2015 8:57 pm Awesome Shanna! Re: Hotondo Jamieson - Front Door! 172Sep 17, 2015 3:35 pm Storm water connections are finally done so we now have down pipes. Tiles were delivered at the beginning of this week and tiler was due to start today but he hasn't shown up. The trades are horribly unreliable out here...I'm really starting to get fed up with how little is getting done. Weeks go by with next to nothing happening. I'm not sure if it's poor time management/organisational skills on the builders part, or just unreliable trades but I'm getting tired of the whole thing. No tiling at all this week as promised, again. I checked at 8:40am this morning and no one was there at all. If they hadn't started by that time then nothing is going to happen again today. Officially another week gone by with no progress. The other two houses being built in my street (all different builders) are buzzing with contractors this morning and there is our house with nothing happening.
